More than 150 police officers could face criminal charges over their actions during President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs, the Philippines Justice Department has said, citing the results of a preliminary probe.

The Justice Department has examined 52 cases related to the war on drugs, which saw the death of suspects, as part of its second review of the issue. The first review was completed in December 2020.

The cases are focused on the actions of a total of 154 officers, according to Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra. Intelligence gathered by the police internal affairs service suggests that "officers involved in these cases were not only administratively liable, but the existing evidence pointed to their possible criminal liability as well," Guevarra told local media on Sunday.

Cuban authorities slam 'vile abandonments' as several young baseball players defect during Mexican tournament

At least nine young Cuban baseball players have defected to Mexico during a tournament in the North American country in what is being described as the largest defection of Cuban athletes to have taken place in many years.

Officials for the Cuban team, who were competing in the Under-23 Baseball World Cup, hit out at the defectors for what they described as "vile abandonments", with the rest of the 24-man squad due back in their homeland on Monday in what is the latest example of sportspeople abandoning the Cuban regime.

They also said that the players displayed "weak morals and ethics".

Comment: It would seem that they've defected in the hopes that they'll be able to obtain lucrative sports contracts in the US; not exactly the most righteous of 'protests' or defections.

UK: Eco-lunatics block roads again, prevent ambulance from getting to hospital

Media continues to lavish Extinction Rebellion with coverage.

Extinction Rebellion eco-lunatics occupied roads in the UK yet again, this time blocking an ambulance from getting to hospital and preventing a woman from seeing her sick mother.

After having re-branded themselves as 'Insulate Britain' due to public sentiment for their behavior turning sour, the climate clowns blocked the Blackwall Tunnel as well as Hanger Lane, Wandsworth Bridge and Arnos Grove in the 11th such action taken by the group.

Comment: More from RT:
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has caused quite a stir on British social media as he announced tougher sanctions against activists "unfairly blocking motorways", and new powers for the police to deal with "illegitimate protesters".

"We can't have people's lives unfairly disrupted by those who are blocking motorways, gluing themselves to the tarmac," Johnson said in a video statement published on Twitter, referring to the latest series of protests staged by Insulate Britain, a splinter group of Extinction Rebellion.

"We're taking action on illegitimate protestors who are unfairly blocking motorways and disrupting people's lives. We're giving the police the measures to stop them, with protesters facing six months in jail or unlimited fines," he wrote in a tweet with the video attached.

...

People took to Twitter to ask the prime minister to clarify whom exactly he considered to be "illegitimate" when it came to protests. Others asserted that there was "no such thing as an illegitimate protest" and called Johnson's choice of words "particularly chilling" for anyone who "believes in democracy."

...

Critics noted that London was more than eager to support pretty much any protests, including violent ones, in distant lands such as Syria, Iran or India, but took a completely different stance when faced with peaceful demonstrations at home.

There were some who agreed on the need for tougher measures to tackle radical climate activism, however. They accused the protesters of "blocking ambulances" and called the activists' approach "petulant and childish." Nonetheless, that did not necessarily mean they were satisfied with the government's response, as at least some of them demanded actions instead of words.

Disney+ debuts cringey trailer for Fauci documentary as doctor accuses media of 'misinterpreting' his Christmas-gathering comments

Dr. Anthony Fauci is again facing the scorn of critics, over a new documentary on his public service. At the same time, the White House adviser is trying to walk back "misinterpreted" comments on canceling Christmas.

Those tired of the health official's seemingly constant presence on television screens will need to brace themselves, as the Disney+ streaming service is debuting the National Geographic movie 'Fauci' on Wednesday.

The company dropped a trailer on Monday in which the adviser was described as "one of America's most vital public servants," prompting immediate social media backlash.

The trailer shows cameras following a teary-eyed Fauci, who is at one point described by a family member as "funny" and "weird." It doesn't even attempt to hide its admiration for the man, admitting he's a "target" for criticism by some, but not touching on the gain-of-function research, mask mandate, or other controversies he has evoked.

Comment: After the children's book earlier this year we have another desperate attempt of the PTB to present Dr.Fauci as a person who served humanity during this fake Covid-19 pandemic. The memories are still vivid and this "washing" of Dr.Fauci is practically very rude and insulting for average human intelegence.

We know who he is, what he has done and is still doing, and we recognize his contribution in this hoax pandemic as a PTB puppet.
This lousy movie is pure propaganda and people wont buy it this time.

"Programmable Digital Currency": The next stage of the new normal?

digital currency
Building on the bitcoin model, central banks are planning to produce their own "digital currencies". Removing any and all remaining privacy, granting total control over every transaction, even limiting what ordinary people are allowed to spend their money on.

From the moment bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies first emerged, sold as an independent and alternative medium of exchange outside the financial status quo, it was only a matter of time before the new alternative would be absorbed, modified and redeployed in service of the state.

Enter "Central Bank Digital Currencies": the mainstream answer to bitcoin.

For those who have never heard of them, "Central Bank Digital Currencies" (CBDCs) are exactly what they sound like, digitized versions of the pound/dollar/euro etc. issued by central banks.

Like bitcoin (and other crypto), the CBDC would be entirely digital, thus furthering the ongoing war on cash. However, unlike crypto, it would not have any encryption preserving anonymity. In fact, it would be totally the reverse, potentially ending the very idea of financial privacy.

Going full totalitarian: Canadian province issues new COVID rules that let gov't seize private property and detain people without a warrant

Premier Scott Moe

A Canadian provincial government enacted Orwellian-like emergency powers in the name of fighting COVID that allow for officials to detain or remove people without a warrant and seize personal property at will.

Under new health orders, the Saskatchewan minister may "authorize the entry into any building or on any land, without warrant, by any person in the course of implementing an emergency plan."

The government is also afforded the power to "cause the evacuation of persons and the removal of persons or livestock and personal property from any area of Saskatchewan that is or may be affected by an emergency and make arrangements for the adequate care and protection of those persons or livestock and of the personal property."

The new Provincial Emergency Order under The Emergency Planning Act was signed September 13, by Premier Scott Moe. The orders were announced by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health.

Mao's Red Guards and America's Justice Warriors

mao zedong
On a warm day in the early fall of 1966, a 17-year-old former high school student led a group of local Red Guards in a struggle session to publicly shame members of the "Five Black Categories (landlords, rich farmers, counter-revolutionaries, bad elements, and right-wingers)" in a small town near Shanghai. The teenager, who came from an affluent landlord family, herded over a dozen "Five Blacks," who were ordered to stand in a row on a makeshift stage in the town center and wear signs showing their names and alleged crimes. The Red Guard leader read out each person's crime against the revolutionary regime, demanded confessions, and encouraged the crowd to join the struggle. He chanted: "The revolution is just and the rebellion is justified!"

This event was part of a student-led paramilitary movement that debuted the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Many, including the generation born after the Cultural Revolution, view the chaos and destruction caused by Mao's Red Guards as a mere historical hiccup, rather than a formative series of events that would set a pattern for the future. Few draw parallels between what happened in China half a century ago and what could happen in an open society engulfed by an orthodoxy of group think, racial identity politics, and dichotomous social relations.

To start, this radical orthodoxy preys on impressionable and unsuspicious young minds, filling them with romanticized "revolutionary" ideas, such that many are willing to forego formal education for political ambitions. Chinese Red Guards, mostly high school and middle school students, helped effectively shut down their schools by subjugating school principals and teachers in endless struggle sessions and substituting field trips with free train rides to Beijing to meet with Chairman Mao.

Massive oil spill along Southern California coast, 'possible pipeline leak from oil rig'

Crews in the water and along the Southern California coastline worked feverishly Sunday to stunt the growing environmental disaster from one of the largest oil spills in recent California history after a possible underwater pipeline leak sent more than 100,000 gallons of oil into the ocean.

Booms, a temporary floating barrier that is used to contain marine spills, were deployed on the ocean surface to try to contain the oil while divers sought to determine where and why the leak occurred. On land, there was a race to find animals harmed by the oil and to keep the spill from harming any more sensitive marshland in Orange County.

Crews were able to remove more than 3,000 gallons of oil from the ocean off the coastline Sunday, according to Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.

Comment: It remains to be seen what the source and cause of the spill was:

Big Biz has found that Critical Race Theory is bad for business

woke protest
© Sipa via AP ImagesSeveral large financial institutions are now staying away from Critical Race Theory-based training.
I've noticed something lately covering the woke culture that's threatening to turn corporate offices into university-style safe spaces: There are apparently limits to how far left big companies are willing to veer to gain progressive brownie points.

Case in point: the much-celebrated diversity hustle that companies had begun to embrace during our summer of "largely peaceful protests." Of course, we all want a diverse workforce, but after the tragic murder of George Floyd, some firms thought it would be smart to indoctrinate office workers in that noxious fad known as Critical Race Theory.

CRT is an amalgam of left-wing talking points spewed out by the growing diversity-consulting business. The stated purpose by its practitioners sounds noble enough: Use CRT to root out racism and make the world a better place.

How CRT gets there is the problem. Racism gets rooted out mainly by brainwashing white people into believing they are inherently evil racists. They are inherently evil racists because America is systemically racist, no matter how much it has strived during its history to be better.

Thus to be good corporate citizens, they need to be re-educated and reprogrammed from their inherently racist past.

Del Rio, Texas, residents who spoke with Fox News were frustrated with how President Biden handled the recent migrant surge at the southern border.

"I feel that it's the fault of the president," one local told Fox News. Immigrants "felt they had been promised by the president that they would become United States citizens," they said.

As many as 15,000 migrants recently crossed the U.S.'s southern border and gathered under the Del Rio International Bridge.
