The crash and burn of a meteorite into the Earth atmosphere may have been seen and captured on different recordings in Romania last night at 3 AM, according to Romanian media. Many Romanians noticed a bright light, similar to day light, which lasted for several seconds during the night, and the unusual phenomena was captured on surveillance cameras, including on the Otopeni airport in Bucharest - videos below.

Internet users and bloggers reported they have seen something that may have been a meteorite disintegrating into the atmosphere, which resulted into the bright light. Some people who happened to be driving in Bucharest at the time of the incident reported the same phenomena.

It is yet uncertain where the meteorite may have fallen, but, according to ProTv, this could have happened somewhere around the counties of Buzau or Vrancea, where the intensity of the light, as seen on local surveillance cameras, was also the highest.

Strange fireball filmed breaking away from meteorite-like object in California

A mysterious glowing orb has been filmed breaking away from an unidentified meteorite-like object as it streaked across the sky above California.

The unusual object can be seen moving through the sky leaving a long tail behind that is characteristic of space debris or a meteorite burning up in the atmosphere. But after a few seconds a second round object separates from the main fireball and moves off in the opposite direction.

UFO hunters have claimed the bright orb may have been some sort of escape pod from a crashing ship. However, others have said it is more likely to have been a meteorite breaking apart in the atmosphere. There have been several sightings of meteorite fireballs in the US over the past week, with many reports coming from California. The past couple of days have also seen astronomers enjoying the peak of the annual Quadrantids meteor shower.

The fireball was spotted by Ken Roberts while he was driving home from work in southern California. He said: 'I was driving home after work when this UFO or whatever you call it caught my eye. 'I pulled over in front of somebody's house to film it. I would have got a better shot but I didn't want to jump these people's fence. 'Anyway I don't know what the hell to make of it. Couldn't have been a plane cause there was no noise. And I never heard a crash after either.

'The Orb thing flew straight up into the sky and disappeared.' He posted the video on YouTube on Monday evening but did not say when or where the footage had been filmed, other than the general area of California.

'I think it could be something re-entering and bits coming off it,' said Ben Biggs, editor of All About Space magazine. 'However, if it was a big spacecraft then we'd probably know about it. 'Could it be a meteorite? It's a bit slow to be one as they normally travel much faster through the atmosphere, although we are at the peak of the Quadrantids meteor shower.

Loud Booms are escalating across the USA in January 2015

Boom
© dealbreaker.com
Loud booms are actually usual on New Year's Eve. However, I think that all the rockets and fireworks have already exploded two or three days after! So what are these mysterious booms heard and felt across the US in the first days of 2015?

Yesterday, mystery booms have been reported across the US from Texas to North Carolina, California to Indiana and Georgia, so literally all over the country. Freaky, isn't it?

Lucy banks shared on the DSW Scanner's Facebook page: "Loud booms in Euless, Texas just now lots of them started off really loud and then got quieter." On the same thread Kim Walk Prazak reports another boom in Keller, Tx. Any ideas about their origin?

Jennifer Whitacker reports 2 loud booms again, the first was louder than the second in Indiana. Just remember that the New Madrid fault lies right under this state. Is the next big one around?

Comment: In all likelihood most of these blasts are overhead explosions of incoming space rocks and other seismic interactions brought about from our changing cosmic climate.

SOTT Exclusive: Huge asteroid filmed breaking up into hundreds of meteor fireballs over Southern Brazil

Image
Early morning December 28, loud booms accompanied the break-up of a large asteroid/comet fragment into hundreds of meteors over Southern Brazil, over the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campo Grande, Paraná and even in Paraguay. People on the ground were startled, amazed and scared by the spectacular display.

Local media and 'experts' were quick to throw the 'space junk' hypothesis on the table to account for at least one of the sightings, as what looked like a charred or carbonized gas cylinder had been found in a field in Santa Rita do Pardo, about 300 km from Campo Grande. Two years ago another meteor fireball sighting in Brazil was also blamed on 'space junk', after the fact. What are the odds of TWO satellites or rocket boosters hitting Brazil - and catching all space and ground observation systems - completely off-guard, and in the space of two years?

Space junk may of course fall, yet it cannot account for the increasing numbers of actual cosmic bodies raining down on us these days. The usual 'space junk did it' explanation is an obvious reaction to cover up any possible threat or omen coming from without our globe, as well as a calming agent to a very deep-seated fear in the collective human psyche; the association of meteors and large-scale human suffering.

This spectacular meteor fireball sighting in Brazil in October 2014 was just that - a meteor fireball. Given that they're being filmed, photographed and seen all over the world, and on a daily basis, it's far more probable that the 'visitation' on December 28th over Southern Brazil was another large meteor fireball.

Question

Bingham County, Idaho rocked by two mystery explosions less than a week apart

Bingham County residents are reporting a second mysterious explosion less than a week after the first blast triggered several 911 calls.

Residents in the town of Riverside reported to the local media Sunday evening that they not only heard a loud explosion but the boom was powerful enough to shake their homes.

However, the Bingham County Sheriff's Office says that it did not receive any calls from residents about Sunday night's alleged blast.

This is in stark contrast to the explosion that several Groveland residents reported to the Sheriff's Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Comment: Most likely another overhead explosion.

People along the East Coast reported seeing a bright fireball in the skies on Monday evening at about 6:35 p.m.

The American Meteor Society says it received more than 330 reports.

The fireball was seen from Montreal, Canada to Maryland and Delaware.

Peter Czech captured video of the fireball on a dashcam as he drove near I-287 and the Route 10 interchange.

One person in New Hampshire reported seeing flames.

A person in Sicklerville, New Jersey reported that they were driving in their car and were not sure if it was a fireball or a spent firework because of what they saw.

Peter Czech captured video of the fireball on a Garmin camera as he drove near I-287 and the Route 10 interchange in Hanover.

If you saw the fireball and you would like to report it, you can go to the AMS website.

Christmas fireball lights up Spanish skies

A slow-moving meteoroid provided a dramatic spectacle as it streaked more than 1,200 kilometres (745 miles) across Spain during the new king's Christmas Eve speech.

While King Felipe was delivering his inaugural Christmas message, a different kind of show was taking place in skies above Spain with an earth-grazing fireball travelling diagonally from the south-east of Spain to the north-west of the country.

The 100kg (220 pound) rock with a diameter of just one metre entered Spanish skies at the border between the regions of Murcia and Almeria and left the country via the south of Galicia about a minute later.

It then bounced off the Earth's atmosphere shortly after heading out over the Atlantic ocean.

Meteor spotted over north Northumberland, UK

Northumberland Fireball

A Gazette reader took this photo of what he presumes is a meteorite or meteor in the sky above north Northumberland early on Christmas Day. Did anyone else spot it?

The picture, by Richard Thomas, was taken at 8.30am yesterday on the beach between Newton and Embleton before sunrise and features an object Mr Thomas described as 'very distinct'.

It is perhaps likely to be a meteor rather than a meteorite as a meteor is a small particle from an asteroid or comet orbiting the sun that is observed as it burns up in the Earth's atmosphere - a shooting star, while a meteorite is one that survives its passage through the Earth's atmosphere and hits the surface.

It is not the only thing that has attracted attention to our skies after spectacular Northern Lights displays were spotted from Craster and then from Bamburgh earlier this week.

Known as the Aurora Borealis, the light show is caused by charged particles colliding in the Earth's atmosphere and is seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemisphere.

Before a display, electrons and protons are hurled from the sun's atmosphere and are blown towards the Earth by the solar wind. Often these particles are then deflected by the Earth's magnetic field, but as it is weaker at either pole, some particles enter the atmosphere and collide with gas particles.

Calgary photographer captures fireball over Mount Rundle

Calgary Fireball
© Brett Abernethy / Calgary HeraldCalgary photographer Brett Abernethy captured a shot of an apparent fireball streaking across the night sky in Banff over Mount Rundle on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
Calgary photographer Brett Abernethy was out in Banff shooting aurora over the night sky early Saturday when he captured what appeared to be a fireball zipping over the mountains.

Abernethy said he and a fellow photographer were set up at Johnson Lake taking a shot of Mount Rundle at around 1:22 a.m. when the sky lit up.

"It was like daytime almost. It fragmented into three pieces. We were both in awe. Then I realized my shot was exposing as it was going on," he said, adding he used a 40-second exposure.

When he looked at the photo he snapped with his Canon 5D Mark III, using a Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 lens, he was pleasantly surprised to see he'd captured a bright light streaking over the mountains.

More meteor scribblings in the sky? Strange glowing cloud spotted in sky above Siberia

Image

A strange-shaped cloud materialised in the early morning sky above Siberia just minutes after the launch of a rocket sending satellites into space. Glowing orange as it was touched by the rays of the rising sun, it cast a ghostly spectre against the clear winter sky.

For a while it was unclear what had caused the trails of vapour over the southern Altai region, with many even speculating about the possibility of UFOs.

The prevailing view, as always, is that this is "nothing out of the ordinary, just the military wasting your money..." - daft opinion from nameless, ignorant 'experts' who unconsciously buttress the status quo rather than encourage awareness about our planet being a shooting gallery for cosmic bodies. The planet seems to especially attract such cosmic attention in times of compounding human corruption. Check out our recently published Earth Changes and the Human Cosmic Connection.
