US President Donald Trump managed to trigger his critics again by saying he would love to go to Russia for the celebration of victory in WWII - which a reporter and most media misnamed as the long-nonexistent "May Day parade."

"I would love to go if I could," Trump said on Friday, answering a reporter who had asked if he would go to the "May Day parade" in Moscow next year. "I am thinking about it."

Trump noted it was in the middle of the campaign season for the 2020 US presidential election, so he might be busy. The mere mention of the possibility of going to Russia is enough to send the US president's critics into a frenzy, but the mention of "May Day" had them additionally shrieking in outrage.

"All roads lead to Putin!" exclaimed Raw Story, rolling out a gamut of #Resistance Twitter reactions echoing that line from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Leading the way was CNN anchor Jim Sciutto, who characterized the parade as "a celebration of Russian military power, which Putin is using to undermine US national security interests across the globe."

Comment: Victory Day commemorates the victory over Nazi Germany and the end of WWII, for which millions of Russians gave their lives. All western heads of state should be present and recognize (finally) the role Russia played and the help she offered to the allies at that dark time in history. However, the American media (and the Democrats specifically) never lose the opportunity to display their innate Russo-Trump hatred along with their general ignorance of historical facts!

A former senior manager at the French ministry of culture is on trial for spiking young women's drinks with diuretics to watch them urinate in front of him and with taking upskirt photos over a 10-year period, local media report.

For 10 years, Christian N. slipped diuretics into the drinks of young female job candidates, then took them on lengthy tours of the city until the drug kicked in, forcing them to urinate out in the open while he hid them from the public with his jacket and watched. He also sneaked photographs from up their skirts as they sat before him in his office.

The former deputy regional director of cultural affairs for the Grand Est region, Christian N. documented the details of his perversions in a spreadsheet, that contained nearly 200 names and behavioral notes, by the time he was finally caught in the act last June and suspended from his post that October. A year later, he has finally been brought to account for his disturbing acts, but questions swirl as to how he was able to get away with his dirty deeds for so long. French outlet Libération spoke to the official, to five of his victims and to several ministry sources, publishing a lengthy investigation of the case on Thursday.

Comment: What does it say about the condition of politics (and other positions of influence) that a significant proportion, in so many countries, are found to be deviants and criminals? And those are just those that have been caught. See:

Tulsi Gabbard to Breitbart News: 'We do not have a nation if we do not have borders'

tulsi gabbard
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) told Breitbart News on Thursday morning that "we do not have a nation if we don't have borders."

Gabbard, appearing with Breitbart News' editor-in-chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot 125, is among the ten Democratic presidential candidates who have qualified for the fifth debate Nov. 20.

She fielded a variety of question from Marlow, including questions about domestic policy, starting with immigration.

Comment: Tulsi is literally the only Democratic candidate that makes any sense. The fact that only conservative outlets will have her on and treat her civilly says a lot about the state of both the liberal media and the corruption of the Democratic party.

SOTT Focus: An Obituary to Reality and Truth in the Western World

rip common sense
Societies’ that base their foundations on subjective facts and lies have no legs to stand on
During the course of my life I have watched the Western World abandon all of the values that made it successful. Despite all its crimes, and they are many, the Western World succeeded. Everyone wanted to be part of it, and it will be the demise of the Russians that they still do.

The Western World succeeded, because it believed in objective truth and searched for it. This resulted in scientific and technological discoveries, in architectural and artistic beauty, and in brilliant literature that educated the educatable into the human condition.

But objective truth is no longer acceptable in the Western Woke World, because it is contrary to the woke ideologies, such as there is no difference between men and women, that there are many genders and that men and women can be born into the wrong bodies, that hurt feelings are more important than empirical facts, that many subjects are not subject to examination or debate, because they offend emotive beliefs of feminists, people of color, Jews, the new transgendered species, and whoever else can make a claim of victimhood.

Everyone can claim to be a victim except white male heterosexuals. They are branded "exploiters" of everyone else, and they are unable to get out of this trap. In the Western World white heterosexual males face the same fate as the bourgeoisie under Lenin. A white heterosexual male who defends himself or his fellows is immediately branded a misogynist or a white supremacist. Increasingly courts treat white heterosexual males as if they are members of a criminal class.

We now live in a world in which a self-declared "victim" can block truth, because truth offends them. The offended are able to get the truth-teller fired and removed from employment. His crime is that he exercised free speech. Today free speech is the most sure path to self-destruction for a white heterosexual male.

Comment: In this day and age, we have been saturated with lies in every single aspect of life: from politics to economics, from education to science, from justice to arts and climate...

And when thinking, feeling people with a conscience are force-fed so many lies, their unconscious will rebel against it and they will act out in ways that aim towards actual destruction. And that's what we see in the recent protests that are happening around the world:

The RCEP train left the station, and India, behind?

Biggest story at ASEAN was convergence of moves toward Asia integration, leaving Delhi out for now

Apan-Asia high-speed train has left the station - and India - behind. The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which would have been the largest free trade deal in the world, was not signed in Bangkok. It will probably be signed next year in Vietnam, assuming New Delhi goes beyond what ASEAN, with diplomatic finesse barely concealing frustration, described as "outstanding issues, which remain unresolved."

The partnership uniting 16 nations - the ASEAN 10 plus China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and, in theory, India - would have congregated 3.56 billion people and 29% of world trade.

Predictably, it was billed as the big story among the slew of high-profile meetings linked to the 35th ASEAN summit in Thailand, as RCEP de facto further integrates Asian economies with China just as the Trump administration is engaged in a full spectrum battle against everything from the Belt and Road Initiative to Made in China 2025.

Zakharova: Moscow urges London to clarify whether founder of 'White Helmets' had connections to Al-Qaeda

The comment comes in the aftermath of a statement by the UK Foreign Office's Minister for the Middle East, Andrew Murrison, in which he claimed that the White Helmets was subjected to a massive disinformation campaign by Syria and Russia.

Instead of condemning the criticism of the White Helmets group by Moscow and Damascus, London should rather clarify whether the founder of this group, who is known to have previously served in the UK foreign intelligence, had links to al-Qaeda*, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

"Let us take a look at who created this structure ... It is known for a fact that one of the White Helmets' founders was James Le Mesurier. He is a former UK intelligence officer, specifically of MI6 [foreign intelligence service]," Zakharova said at a press briefing.

This coincidence is unlikely to be a random one, the spokeswoman noted.

"This man has been spotted in many conflicts worldwide, including in the Balkans and the Middle East ... Moreover, a number of researchers point to the links of this former spy to terrorist organisations back when he worked in Kosovo. There is data suggesting that there were al-Qaeda members among his team there," Zakharova continued.

Brazilian court frees former president Lula da Silva from prison until his appeal process ends

A judge has ordered the release from jail of former President of Brazil Lula da Silva until his appeal process ends. Da Silva stands accused of corruption, though he and his supporters call the charges politically motivated.

On Friday, the judge accepted the request filed by the ex-president's defense team, authorizing him to leave jail. Da Silva will now be able to stay out of prison until his appeal process continues.

Shortly after the ruling, Lula's official Twitter account released a video of of the 74-year-old working out. The post was accompanied by two words only: "Lula free".

Comment: Lula da Silva is a political prisoner, sidelined on trumped-up charges but who is still wildly popular with many Brazilians. He might well have won last year's election in Brazil had he not been thrown in prison. See also:

Reports that US agreed to tariff rollback on Chinese goods drives markets to record-high - UPDATE: Trump trade advisor says no deal yet

stock markets nov 2019 US China trade
Reports that the US has agreed to a rollback of tariffs on Chinese goods if 'phase one' of the long-awaited trade deal is sealed have sent markets to a record high.

A US official has confirmed the arrangement to roll back tariffs, Bloomberg reported on Thursday afternoon.

The Dow Jones gained 246.34 points, with companies like Caterpillar and Boeing up at least 1.2 percent. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 added 17.27 points, rising to 3,094.05. Energy stocks jumped 1.1 percent.

US President Donald Trump tweeted that the stock market was "up big" on Thursday morning. "A New Record. Enjoy!" he wrote.

Comment: UPDATE Nov 8 from RT: US trade adviser Peter Navarro has put a damper on the news, insisting Trump has yet to formally approve the deal and that the Chinese were 'negotiating in public to push for an outcome favorable to Beijing':
"There is no agreement at this time to remove any of the existing tariffs as a condition of the phase one deal, and the only person who can make that decision is President Donald J. Trump and it's as simple as that," Navarro said in an appearance on 'Lou Dobbs Tonight.'

Navarro, however, rejected the Chinese statement outright, insisting it was "propaganda" designed to "push" Washington toward an outcome favorable to Beijing. [..]

Behind the scenes, the White House trade adviser has reportedly fought the prospective agreement tooth-and-nail, objecting to the removal of certain provisions on intellectual property that featured in earlier versions of the deal. According to a former administration official, however, Navarro's efforts have so far been unsuccessful, telling CNBC that the adviser was "alone on this one."

Top Chinese diplomat: Our mid-range missiles don't pose threat to Washington... UNLESS it moves its missiles 'too close'

Chinese medium-range missiles are confined within the country's borders, a senior Foreign Ministry official said, warning the US against deploying its forces to Beijing's doorstep.

"Our missiles are stationed on our territory. They don't pose a threat to the US - at least, if the US doesn't deploy their ships too close to our territory," head of the Arms Control Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Fu Cong said on Friday.

Speaking at an arms control event in Moscow, Fu stressed that deploying American missiles in the region would be a "provocative, destabilizing act."
The US talks about placing their intermediate-range missiles close to China, near our doorstep. It would immediately pose a threat to our crucial launching pads and sites. It would be a threat to the survival of Chinese nuclear forces.
