Dennis Kucinich: Mistaking militarism for statecraft, empire for democracy and debt for prosperity

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre, the falcon cannot hear the falconer. All things fall apart. The center cannot hold."
— W.B. Yeats, The Second Coming
As of May 2024, the United States has committed over $175 (borrowed) billion to escalating the proxy war against Russia, and, as in the case of the Iraq and Afghan wars, with little regard for accountability pertaining to tracking military hardware, equipment, funding, or fraud prevention.

One of the most grotesque moments in this bloody global Punch and Judy show preliminary to nuclear war, was the recent arrival of Vladimir Zelenskyy, former president of Ukraine, making a campaign stop at an ammunition factory in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where some of the three million 155mm artillery shells the US has given Ukraine are produced.

Alongside Zelenskyy, in an incitement-op photo promising further escalation of war, the Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania autographed one of the high-velocity artillery shells which will be aimed at Russia. Pennsylvania, which is home to the City of Brotherly Love, was unwitting re-Christened by its top official, with a cursive flair, as the state of brotherly hate.

Comment: Kucinich: A worthy assessment and commentary from one who's been there.

Moscow to remove Taliban from terrorist list

The de facto rulers of Afghanistan could become partners in fighting ISIS, Russian officials have said.

Moscow will remove the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations, Zamir Kabulov, Russia's presidential envoy to Afghanistan, told journalists on Friday. The change was also confirmed by Aleksandr Bortnikov, the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), which is responsible for combating terrorist threats.

Russia was among the first nations to establish contacts with the Taliban after it seized power in Afghanistan in 2021. Russia has not formally recognized the group as the governing force in the country, however.

The group took power in Kabul during the last stage of the hectic withdrawal of US troops, which ended the 20-year Western occupation of Afghanistan. The Washington-backed government of President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, as did many citizens who helped the Americans.

In May, Kabulov described the Taliban as "definitely not our enemies." Speaking to reporters on Friday, the senior diplomat stated that the Russian Foreign Ministry and the FSB are working with other government agencies to formalize the Taliban's removal from the national terrorist list.

Comment: Who to fill the vacancy on the terrorist list...(think big).

BRICS is the Real Story

Ukraine. Season Finale No Renewal

The Russians are rolling over the Ukrainians. Ugledar has fallen. Pokrovsk is next. Maybe Kramatorsk. Lots of places with unspellable names.

In Kursk as I predicted, the UAF has passed the 20,000 casualty mark. Not counting mercenaries - which the Russians don't add to the tally- just shoot.

The Russians will leave an exit corridor, as is now their practice. The Ukrainians will flee towards the city of Sumy, the staging ground for the incursion — and be shot to pieces as they do so. Then, one supposes, Sumy will fall. The noose is tightening

Expect the Russians to take most of the green parts on the map early next year,

They have a powerful ally — winter. No power, no heat. Try to get to Poland. How many Ukrainians will be left in Ukraine.

A sign of that the last episodes of the last season of the Ukraine Story is coming is a certain lack of interest in the media. The public is bored with same-old And the sponsors are looking for something more exciting.

So, the Middle East gets prime time.

Eliminating Hezbollah's leadership, and Hamas's leadership, doesn't seem to have 'satisfied' the Israeli regime, which is perpetually paranoid about its neighbors' intentions. This week on NewsReal, Joe & Niall discuss the latest escalations in the Middle-East, and where they're likely leading to.

Moscow: Ukraine's Kursk 'provocation' has failed

Alexandr Bortnikov russia fsb

Kiev's "foray" into Russia sought to prevent a swift end to the wider conflict, Aleksandr Bortnikov has said

Ukraine's incursion into Russia's Kursk Region was intended to bait Moscow into an asymmetric, hard-line response, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has said.

Speaking at a meeting of top security officials on Friday, Aleksandr Bortnikov said Kiev's cross-border attack in early August "once again demonstrated the criminal nature of [Vladimir] Zelensky's regime."

The FSB director added that the "foray" was "aimed at provoking Russia into a disproportionately harsh response and eliminating the preconditions for resolving the conflict in the foreseeable future." However, the incursion failed to relieve pressure on Ukrainian defenses in Donbass, where Moscow's forces have made steady progress in recent months, he said.

Comment: Many alt-media analysts have come to the conclusion that Russia deliberately weakened this small portion of the border to entice the UAF into attacking. The whole area is now being systematically cleared. In the early days of the 'foray', Russian forces concentrated especially on eliminating machines rather than troops. Thus, the majority of Ukraine forces who were part of the invasion, have been reduced to foot soldiers who can defend themselves with only what they can carry. The hubris of Ukraine's leadership (invade Russia??) and the callousness with which they throw away their citizen's lives at NATO's behest is breathtaking.

Prosecutors request indefinite delay in trial for Trump assassination attempt suspect Ryan Routh

Ryan routh trump assassin
© Obtained by Fox News DigitalRyan Routh is accused of aiming a rifle at former President Trump while he was golfing at his course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024. It is being investigated as a second assassination attempt on Trump.
Federal prosecutors requested an indefinite delay Wednesday in scheduling the trial for Ryan Routh, the suspect in the second assassination attempt on former President Trump, citing an enormous amount of evidence gathered since his arrest.

In a filing on Wednesday, prosecutors asked Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon to officially designate Routh's case as "complex."

Prosecutors revealed the scope of the investigation, which spanned multiple states, involved hundreds of interviews and included hundreds of digital media for review.

"The government has worked diligently since September 15 to investigate the incident. Over the past two weeks, the United States has interviewed hundreds of witnesses," the filing said. "It has also executed 13 search warrants in Florida, Hawaii, and North Carolina, and seized hundreds of items of evidence, including multiple electronic devices.

Comment: Given the FBI's penchant for creating "terror plots" then busting them to enhance their image, one has to wonder if the delay is for cleaning up uncomfortable connections between Routh and various alphabet agencies behind the scenes. The CIA deserves scrutiny too, as Routh was freelancing as a recruiter for mercenaries to go to Ukraine. For a broke guy living in a dump in Hawaii, he certainly had a generous travel budget. Routh's Ukraine activities are mentioned in this article from July 2023:

(4 October 2024) The increasingly authoritarian, fundamental rights- and freedom-hostile moloch that the EU headquarters in Brussels has degenerated into has been trying for years - and most recently with increasing severity - to take a tight rein on social media and to censor all content that deviates from the desired narratives as "disinformation", or at least to brand it with "classifications" via warning notices.

SpaceX engineer in North Carolina has dire warning: Biden-Harris' FEMA "actively blocking shipments" for relief

North Carolina
© UnknownAid to hurricane victims blocked by FEMA
A shocking firsthand account from a SpaceX engineer in storm-battered North Carolina reveals that Biden-Harris' Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) blocked shipments of critical goods for relief efforts into the region. There have been numerous reports this week of FEMA actively hindering relief efforts in the western part of the state, including threatening private helicopter pilots with arrests for conducting rescue missions. We also learned that the Biden-Harris administration drained FEMA funds to support illegal aliens, prioritizing non-citizens (future voters) over American citizens.

Around lunchtime, Elon Musk shared a dire message from one of his SpaceX engineers on the ground in the storm-ravaged state. Musk said:
"FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!"
Musk shared a dire warning from one of his engineers on the ground:
"Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC. We have powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We've deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives.

"The big issue is FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own. It's very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping. We are blocked now on the shipments of new starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. but that may not be enough."

Comment: Local reports from individuals in and about these devastated areas verify the lack of service, relief, rescue. Countless residents have had to walk off their properties because nothing, really nothing was left. Roads crumbled. Stores are only taking cash, goods and gasoline have been in limited supply. Predicted: Return to normal may take years.

Why haven't Biden and Harris responded? As Musk said: Because the disaster will impact November voting in 'Red' country.

General Qassem Soleimani wins: Israel falls into the trap of the Axis of Resistance

solemani tribute
© ReutersTribute to Soleimani
In 2020, the U.S. military assassinated Iranian General Qassem Solemani in a terrorist attack with drones in Iraq. The purpose of the operation was simply to eliminate one of the greatest military thinkers in history - the man largely responsible for creating the trap that Israel has just fallen into, four years after his death.

Much more than a mere military officer, Soleimani was a strategist and negotiator - perhaps it would not be an exaggeration to even call him a "war diplomat". An expert in clandestine operations, intelligence and special forces' tactics, Soleimani was responsible for enabling the network of anti-Zionist organizations known as the "Axis of Resistance".

Overcoming religious, ethnic and ideological differences between the various Islamic and anti-Zionist movements, Soleimani united different factions in a joint strategy against Israel. Obviously, this strategy was centered on Iran and gave the Islamic Republic the leading role in the fight against the Israeli occupation and its regional proxies. However, one of the keys to the success of the Axis is precisely its largely decentralized nature, guaranteeing autonomy of action for its members, without tight Iranian control over all the acts of the coalition.

Comment: The Axis of Resistance views war as a series of curtains. Israel? None so blind as 'those who cannot see'.

Why this man is the most important political prisoner alive

Julian Assange
© Siavosh Hossein/Getty ImagesWikileaks founder Julian Assange • Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Strasbourg, France • October 1, 2024
Julian Assange tells 46-nation gathering in Europe why Washington must not be let trample on others' independence and sovereignty.

As the world teeters on the verge of a massive war in the Middle East that could turn into World War Three, it is hard to even notice other important events.

What seems to overshadow everything else is the hideous spectacle of Israel and the collective West co-perpetrating a genocide in Gaza while also producing multiple attacks and massacres in the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, as well as issuing ceaseless threats to do even worse if the victims dare fight back. When Gaza is being exterminated and Beirut is burning, why would people turn to look, for instance, at sleepy Strasbourg?

And yet, on October 1, that's where a quietly historic event took place, namely the first major public appearance of Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, publisher, and outstanding investigative journalist, after his release in June from some 14 years of vicious American-British persecution and incarceration, some of which, according to UN special rapporteur Nils Melzer and the prestigious medical journal The Lancet, amounts to torture.

Though he is now free, Assange has not, it is important to note, received justice and most likely never will: A victim of outrageous abuses of state power, the crimes against him have not even been acknowledged by their perpetrators. Instead, to escape further persecution he was forced through a plea deal to pretend to recognize his own non-existent guilt. As he put it in Strasbourg - clearly with ironic reference to the title of a famous Soviet dissident's memoir - he "chose freedom over unrealizable justice."

Comment: Amar provides analysis and insightful perspectives.
Would the global situation be different now had Assange not been persecuted and incarcerated? Perhaps. That said, Assange is the constant reminder of what justice has become, a window for us to see.
