The Turkish president's comments come a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his intention to "apply sovereignty in a wise way in Judea and Samaria", calling parts of the West Bank by their biblical names.

In a televised address for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened Israel over its new government's plan to claim parts of the West Bank.

"We are witnessing a new plan of occupation and annexation by Israel that threatens Palestinian sovereignty and is contrary to international law", Erdogan said, adding Turkey is the "only voice defending the Palestinians today".

The Afghan government plans to release 900 more Taliban prisoners as a three-day cease-fire with the militants draws to an end.

The break in fighting, which came into effect on May 24 to mark the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, was for the most part holding out across the country, officials said.

The government earlier responded to the Taliban's cease-fire offer by announcing plans to release up to 2,000 militant prisoners.

"There is a decision to release 900 today," National Security Council spokesman Javid Faisal said on May 26, adding that the precise number could vary subject to legal procedures.

If completed, it would be the biggest group of Taliban prisoners freed so far.

One of the Iranian vessels (right) is seen in international waters crossing the Gibraltar stretch on May 20.
An Iranian tanker carrying fuel has reached port in Venezuela amid escalating tensions between Washington and the two U.S.-sanctioned countries.

Iran's English-language Press TV reported on May 25 that the vessel, the first of five Iran has sent to the South American country, moored at El Palito, a Venezuelan port run by state oil company PDVSA.

The ship-tracking service MarineTraffic also confirmed the arrival of the tanker.

"The Iranian oil/chem Handymax tanker, FORTUNE, which loaded 43 million liters of gasoline during mid-March at Port Shahid Rajaee, Iran, has now moored at berth 2 at the refinery of El Palito, Venezuela, situated [200 kilometers] west of capital city, Caracas," tweeted TankerTrackers.com.

President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia's postponed Victory Day parade will take place on June 24. First planned for May 9, the 75th-anniversary celebration of Soviet victory over Nazism was canceled due to Covid-19.

According to the president, the peak of the spread of coronavirus in Russia has passed, and it is now possible to plan a victory parade.

"I order you to begin preparations for the military parade in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the capital of Russia, Moscow, and in other cities," he told Russia's Minister of Defence Sergey Shoigu.

June 24 will be the 75th anniversary of the first-ever victory parade, which took place on Red Square in 1945.

As Americans reeling from coronavirus stay-at-home orders struggle to celebrate the nation's heroes on Memorial Day, The New York Times published an editorial over the weekend that claims the U.S. military celebrates white supremacy.

On Sunday, The New York Times Editorial Board published the piece titled "Why Does the U.S. Military Celebrate White Supremacy?" The editorial made the argument that it's time to rename military bases after "American heroes, not racist traitors."

Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Rath Hoffman tweeted Sunday night in response: "On a solemn day for remembering those that have given their lives for our country fighting against tyranny and subjugation, the NYT has more than a million possible stories of the ultimate sacrifice by American patriots that they could tell. But they don't."

'These are American policies': US ambassador to Germany clashes with MP who said envoy 'issued threats like a hostile power'

The outgoing US ambassador to Berlin, Richard Grenell, has lashed out at a lawmaker who called out his "hostile" stance towards Germany. The envoy said he merely followed Washington's policies and defended American interests.

As the controversial envoy was about to leave his post, Andres Nick, a German lawmaker and the head of the nation's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), took to Twitter to question Grenell's legacy.

For decades, every previous US envoy left his post as "a highly respected figure and trusted friend of Germany," the MP wrote in a scathing post, adding that Grenell was the only one to step down while "issuing threats as if he were representing a hostile power."

The Persian rug weaver has struck in the US's backyard through Venezuela

Iranian tankers were 2200 km from the US coast when the Iranian-flagged Fortune, followed by Forest, entered Venezuelan waters, challenging the US embargo and the US's threats. The Islamic Republic was broadcasting loud and clear a strong message.

The first message was dispatched to the US administration after Gulf and Arab Leaders conveyed a direct message to the Iranian leaders:
"Washington is determined to stop the Iranian tankers sailing to Venezuela". Iran responded to all messages received that "its five tankers will sail to Venezuela and if any of these tankers is intercepted, Iran will respond in the Straits of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman or anywhere else it sees fit."
"These five tankers — the Clavel, Fortune, Petunia, Forest and Faxul — are only the beginning of the supply to Venezuela. Iran has the right to send any of its tankers anywhere in the world and any US interception will be considered an act of piracy and will trigger a direct response," said an Iranian decision-maker who revealed the Iranian response to the US administration via message-carriers.

In a major interview with former White House Secret Service Officer, Gary J. Byrne discusses the well-known character problems, and tendency to grope, on the part of Senator Joe Biden. In this interview, he expresses his view that Tara Reade is likely telling the truth. In his years working in Washington, there were a few senators that female staff were told to avoid ever being alone in a room or elevator with. Joe Biden is one of them.

Gary J. Byrne is the author of Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses His Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill, and How They Operate, best-selling 2016 book by a former member of the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.

Can NASA's 'Artemis Accords' spark a US-Russia alliance?

NASA Artemis Accords
Amidst the global chaos and confusion unleashed by COVID-19, the need for a new global security and financial architecture is becoming clearer every day. Banks tremble upon the precipice of the greatest financial meltdown in history while radical forces of the Anglo-American elite knowing only how to think in terms of "balance of power" geopolitics gear up for war with Russia and China.

The scale of chaos and death threatening humanity via the two-fold crises of economic collapse and war is beyond intolerable for anyone endowed with a brain and even a partially functioning conscience.

Since this crisis is caused in so many ways by geopolitical doctrines which presume that mankind is merely a selfish animal fighting over diminishing returns within closed systems, no solution can be found which is tainted with those very poisons killing the patient. It is for this very reason that all policy concepts which fall outside the box of "balance of power" thinking are so vitally important at this moment of history.

Sadly, since very few people who follow geopolitics with passion pay much attention to the importance of space diplomacy as a domain of "open system" cooperation for humanity, many of the exciting developments centering around the Artemis project have largely fallen "over the radar" so to speak.

EU 'green' agenda calls for eating bugs to save the planet

insect burger
Urges that environmental goals "will not happen without a shift in people's diets."

A new EU draft policy announced last week calls for "insect-based proteins" to be extensively promoted as a replacement for animal products, to save the environment.

The European Commission announced the Farm to Fork (F2F) Strategy, touting it as a "fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly" program that will focus on "increasing the availability and source of alternative proteins such as plant, microbial, marine, and insect-based proteins and meat substitutes."

The draft noted that the program "will not happen without a shift in people's diets".

"Moving to a more plant-based diet with less red and processed meat and with more fruits and vegetables will reduce not only risks of life-threatening diseases, but also the environmental impact of the food system," claims the strategy, revealed last Wednesday.

Comment: And is incorrect on ALL counts - as we've been documenting here for years.

Comment: The following is what real sustainable food production sounds like - and precisely what the buggers would have us ignorant of:
