Democrats are now the riot party

For almost two months, Portland has been under siege from antifa and other extremists. These troops of the left terrorize the downtown area every night. They with paramilitary precision. As organized anarchists, they deploy a wide array of less than lethal weapons to wound police, ranging from bats and bricks to lasers shot in the eyes of officers to permanently damage their sight. All of this is to further their goal to overturn our society and radically transform the country.

If the news media cared to tell the public the truth, it would have been a top story on nightly broadcasts for weeks. The antifa rioters even tried to break into and burn down a federal courthouse in the city. The campaign of intimidation and destruction is plainly domestic terrorism. But the one reason the siege on Portland has become a major news story is because the administration is trying to restore law and order to the beleaguered city, and Democrats hysterically oppose any such action.

President Trump has rightly sent in federal reinforcements to Portland, while many Democrats have circled the wagons on behalf of anarchism. Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to federal agents deployed to Portland as storm troopers. Other members of her party have spoken of federal law enforcement officers as some sort of invading army unwelcome in urban centers. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, deep into his campaign to utterly ruin that city, declared that he would take Trump to court if any federal officers were deployed to address the surging violence there.

US, Russia to hold space-security meeting amid alarm over anti-satellite weapons

Korea
A satellite image shows the Korean Peninsula at night.
A U.S. delegation will meet with Russian officials on July 27 to discuss security in space for the first time in seven years amid alarm in Washington over Moscow's latest test of an anti-satellite weapon.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in Vienna during the next round of U.S.-Russia talks on nuclear arms control, the State Department said in a statement on July 24. The last bilateral meeting between Russia and the United States on space security took place in 2013.

"Our hope is that this meeting will allow us to explore ways to increase security and stability in outer space as well as to advance the cause of developing norms of responsible behavior," Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation Christopher Ford told a press conference.

Ford likened the purpose of the U.S.-Russia space dialogue to attempts to create acceptable rules of behavior in cyberspace.

Russia Report: A triumph of Orwellian bombast

Putin/Intel report
© New York TimesRussian President Vladimir Putin • Parliament Intel report
The sensational headlines screaming on the front pages of British newspapers this week showed that the parliamentary Russia Report was a triumph of bombast.

The Daily Mail led with "Damning Russia Dossier" while The Times heralded "MI5 to get more powers" and "Tough new laws will combat threat of Russian spies". The Times also splashed its front page with a large photograph of Russian President Vladimir Putin seemingly lurking behind a curtain, which just goes to show how much British journalism has descended into cartoonish trivia.

There is sound reason why the British government delayed until this week publication of the so-called Russia Report by a cross-party parliamentary committee. That's plainly because there is nothing in it that could in any way substantiate lurid claims of alleged Russian interference in British politics.

The 55-page document was neither "damning" nor "devastating" as The Daily Mail asserted. The groundless hype suggests that the headline writers simply were looking for something to sell to readers regardless of facts.

Trump takes victory lap after prescription drug executive order

Trump/Exec order

President Trump took a victory lap after signing four executive orders aimed at reducing the cost of prescription drugs.

"Yesterday I signed four measures that will massively reduce the prices of prescription drugs, in many cases by more than 50%. Nothing like this has ever been done before because Big Pharma, with its vast power, would not let it happen," Trump said in a tweet Saturday.

"Expensive Insulin went from big dollars to virtual pennies. Epi-pens went from their incredibly high, jacked up prices, to lower than their original give away bargains," he continued. "Biggest price reductions in history, by far! Nothing like this has ever for our citizens, especially our Seniors. REMEMBER YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT!"

Most notable among the provisions is a new requirement prohibiting drug companies from charging Medicare more than what they charge other nations for the same drugs.

'Diversionary tactics': Moscow dismisses US/UK 'propagandistic' claims it tested new space weapon

Russia's Foreign Ministry has slapped down American and British claims that Moscow has been testing a new anti-satellite weapon. It says the pair are simply trying to distract attention from their own attempts to weaponize space.

US Space Force Command Chief General John W. Raymond claimed on Thursday that Moscow had conducted a "non-destructive test of a space-based anti-satellite weapon," and that Russian "aggression" in space justified the establishment of the US' new space agency. He was promptly backed up in his claims by British officials.

In a statement on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said the fresh claims are part of a "targeted information campaign" aiming to "discredit Russian space activities" and Moscow's efforts "to prevent an arms race in outer space."

American and British officials are presenting the situation "in a distorted manner" to "justify steps they are themselves taking" to deploy extra-planetary weapons and to win more funding for these purposes, the statement said.

Comment: So much to gripe about when cooperation could be beneficial for everyone and energy is spent on uplifting all of humanity. Instead we have distort and report on auto-replay.

Ironically proving the point, Amazon bans censorship documentary 'Killing Free Speech' - Dems shut it down

Last month, Amazon banned Killing Free Speech: Part 1, the first part of a documentary about censorship. Amazon has now censored part two as well, which focuses specifically on Big Tech censorship, but the Democratic Party has joined in the censorship party by what can only be described as an act of Orwellian fiat.

After successfully holding a private screening for border patrol agents, Hansen attempted to arrange a screening of the documentary on Capitol Hill via the office of Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), but was told that any such screening would surely be blocked by the Speaker's office, which controls theaters on Capitol Hill. Michael Hansen then proceeded to contact his local representative, Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ).
"I went to the local democratic congressman Bill Pascrels office and confronted them with the republicans statement. I asked them to organize a screening. I went as far as to challenge them to prove the republicans wrong by organizing the screening and show the American people that the Democratic party does not endorse censorship on capital hill or on the American people. On camera the representative promised to reach out to DC and set something up."
The question on everyone's mind is, what did DC tell Rep. Bill Pascrell about the screening?

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her husband are cashing in already on $5 million of Amazon stock purchased during the time frame that closed-door coronavirus meetings were being conducted in Congress — making an additional $6 MILLION in stock profits on top of the original purchase.

As of Friday morning, the Pelosi stock purchase had already earned the couple $6 million after using insider trading Intel to purchase the stock. The Amazon share price climbed close to $3,000 on Friday. The Pelosi's purchased the shares on Jan. 17, according to financial disclosure filings at $1,600 per share.

Additionally, husband Paul Pelosi held 40 additional call options on Amazon stock too and sold those on Jan. 17 as well, netting him between $500,000 and $1 million, filings shows.

That's like a quick $6 million in profit. Where is William Barr? Paging AG Barr ...

GOP's Gohmert introduces resolution that would ban the Democratic Party

Gohmert
© ReutersRep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) introduced a House resolution Thursday calling on lawmakers to ban organizations or political groups that have historically supported the Confederacy or slavery in the U.S., a list he said includes the Democratic Party. Gohmert said in a statement:
"A great portion of the history of the Democratic Party is filled with racism and hatred. Since people are demanding we rid ourselves of the entities, symbols, and reminders of the repugnant aspects of our past, then the time has come for Democrats to acknowledge their party's loathsome and bigoted past, and consider changing their party name to something that isn't so blatantly and offensively tied to slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination, and the Ku Klux Klan."
The resolution is co-sponsored by GOP Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Jody Hice (Ga.), Randy Weber (Texas) and Andy Harris (Md.)

It comes after the House on Wednesday voted to remove from the Capitol statues of people who served in the Confederacy or defended slavery.

Comment: Hypocrisy is interesting in observation. There are plenty of candidates in Washington who fine tune this attribute without the slightest ability to self-reflect its usage.

US officials force entry into shuttered Chinese consulate in Houston soon after evicted staff left

consulate china
© REUTERS/Gary McWilliamsA group of people use power tools to try to pry open a rear door of the Chinese consulate in Houston, Texas, U.S., July 24, 2020.
A group of men accompanied by a U.S. State Department official were seen forcing open a door at the Chinese consulate in Houston on Friday, shortly after a U.S. government closure order for the mission took effect at 4 p.m. Central Time (2100 GMT).

The group included a man who appeared to be the State Department's top official for foreign missions, Cliff Seagroves. The group did not respond when asked who they were by reporters and a State Department spokesperson declined to answer questions about Seagroves or the group's activity at the consulate.

Comment: RT reports:
The takeover attempt was captured in videos circulated on social media, showing a group of men outside the consulate, who circle the building after apparently failing to access one of its doors.

Police were also seen setting up a perimeter around the facility, and later guarding the building as officials attempted to get inside.

The method of entry mirrors the manner in which US officials forced their way into the locked residence of Moscow's consul-general in Seattle, Washington following a similar purge in 2018 - in that case, a mass ejection of some 60 Russian diplomatic personnel.

The Chinese consulate was shuttered under an order from US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, giving Beijing just 72 hours to evacuate its personnel while insisting the move was necessary to "protect American intellectual property" from alleged Chinese espionage.

Beijing has already responded in kind, ordering on Friday morning the closure of an American consulate in Chengdu - also reportedly giving a 72-hour time frame - which it deemed a "legitimate and necessary response" to Washington's "unreasonable actions."

Venezuela central bank wins right to appeal British ruling recognizing Guaido

venezuela lawyers
Lawyers for Venezuela's central bank (BCV) said on Friday they have won the right to appeal a ruling by the English High Court which recognized Venezuela's opposition leader Juan Guaido as the country's president.

The decision follows a ruling earlier this month which is part of a tug-of-war over whether Guaido or Nicolas Maduro should control $1 billion of Venezuela's gold reserves stored at the Bank of England in London.

"It is incredibly rare for a trial judge to give leave to appeal against their own judgment, and we are pleased to have been granted a limited appeal," said Sarosh Zaiwalla, partner at Zaiwalla & Co which represents the BCV.

Guaido's legal team declined to comment. The court could not immediately confirm details.

Comment: Its no surprise to see how the UK has sided with Western puppet Guaido to effectively keep Venezuela's wealth out of its own hands. No doubt that political pressure will continue to be exercised over the English High Court in support of a clown who was not democratically elected - but would likely hand over Venezuela's energy interests to Western corporations if given the chance.
