Relations with West won't return to way they were - Russian FM

Unfriendly countries are creating an existential threat for Moscow, Sergey Lavrov says.

Moscow's relationship with the West won't return to the way it was before 2014, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has predicted. The country's focus now is on working towards building a multipolar world together with Asian, Latin American, and African nations, he added.
"After the launch of the military operation [in Ukraine], the US and other NATO and EU states drastically intensified the hybrid war against Russia, which they had started back in 2014," Lavrov said in an interview with Lenta.ru on Wednesday.
"Aggressive steps by unfriendly countries create an existential threat for Russia," he continued, referring to unprecedented economic sanctions imposed on Moscow by the West, and extensive military support provided to Kiev by the US and its allies.

The Russian state will "defend our right to free and sovereign development with all available means," the foreign minister added.

NATO suffering delusions of grandeur - Lavrov

The top Russian diplomat has accused the military bloc of attempting to undermine Moscow's relations with Beijing.

The US and its allies are targeting Russia and China because of their strong relationship, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has claimed, citing the final communique from this week's NATO summit in Lithuania.

The NATO document stated that "the deepening strategic partnership between [China] and Russia and their mutually reinforcing attempts to undercut the rules-based international order run counter to our values and interests."

Commenting on Thursday during a trip to Indonesia, Lavrov said that "apparently, we are not even allowed now to have a relationship [with China], or so they wish." The diplomat noted that the US had previously limited itself to referring to Russia and China as its "rivals."

The NATO statement further justifies Russia's efforts to oppose "modern forms of colonialism" and to advocate international relations based on respect, Lavrov insisted.
"People in NATO are obviously not prepared for [the same approach]. Delusion of grandeur is expressed in all actions of the NATO leadership, as well as member states, frankly speaking. Everybody sees that," the Russian minister claimed.
Lavrov accused the West of attempting to preserve its hegemony and dress it up as a "rules-based order," but predicted that multipolarity would ultimately prevail.

He also alleged that NATO's appetite for spreading its influence globally was causing destabilization outside of the North Atlantic region.
"They already have plans to build up NATO military infrastructure in the [Asia-Pacific] region, including in the nations that were invited to the summit in Vilnius... I mean Australia, New Zealand, Japan, [South] Korea," said the minister.
Canberra violated its own commitment to keeping the Pacific free from nuclear weapons when it agreed to host "elements of infrastructure" related to nuclear arms under the AUKUS arrangement, Lavrov argued.
Tokyo and Seoul "have been signaling that they would not oppose stationing American nuclear weapons or obtaining some of their own," he added.
The Russian foreign minister was speaking in Indonesia after a summit with ASEAN, a regional integration bloc. He claimed the US was pushing for the Southeast Asian organization to be replaced by structures under Washington's control, so that it could undermine China.

Russian navy ship docks in Cuba, Havana rejects US nuclear submarine docking in Guantanamo as 'provocation'

As a series of welcoming cannon blasts rang out from a nearby colonial fort, the Russian navy's training class ship Perekop sailed into Havana on Tuesday.

While in Cuba for a four-day visit, the Perekop's sailors will "carry out a wide range of activities," according to Cuba's state-run Prensa Latina news service, and members of the Cuban public will be given the opportunity to tour the ship.

It is the first official visit by a Russian naval vessel to Cuba in years - and another sign of the reforging of the relationship between the two Cold War-era allies after the collapse of the Soviet Union nearly brought down the Cuban economy with it.

Comment: teleSUR reports that Cuba actually rejected entry of the US nuclear submarine:
Cuba Rejects Entry of US Nuclear Submarine in Guantanamo

On Tuesday, the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry (MINREX) rejected the entry of a U.S. nuclear-powered submarine into the Guantanamo naval base from July 5 to 8.

For 121 years, the United States has occupied a territory of 117 square kilometers against the will of the Cuban people and as a colonial remnant of the illegitimate military occupation that began in 1898, the MINREX recalled, mentioning that the Guantanamo base lacks strategic importance for the United States but "its permanence only responds to the political objective of trying to violate the sovereign rights of Cuba."

The Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry reiterates the complaint that the Guantanamo base has become "a center for the detention, torture and systematic violation of the human rights of dozens of citizens from various countries."

"The presence of a nuclear submarine there at this moment makes it imperative to wonder what is the military reason behind this action in this peaceful region of the world; what target is it aiming at and what is the strategic purpose it pursues."

Cuban diplomats thus recalled that 33 nations adhered to the Declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, which was signed in Havana in January 2014.

"It is also important to take into account the fact that, as a threat to the sovereignty and the interests of Latin American and Caribbean peoples, the United States has established more than 70 military bases in the region with different times of permanence, plus other operational forms of military presence. Recently, its high military commands have publicly announced their intention to use their war capabilities to realize the U.S. ambitions over the natural resources of Latin America and the Caribbean."

Secret Service denies media FOIA request: Refuses to release White House cocaine records - UPDATE: Investigation closed

The United States Secret Service has denied a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by Jason Leopold of Bloomberg News. The request sought access to records relating to the finding of cocaine within the West Wing of the White House.

Leopold submitted the FOIA request on July 10 requesting the Secret Service release specific records, including emails, text messages, photographs, memos, letters, directives, intelligence bulletins, threat assessments, after-action reports, suspicious activity reporting, and open-source intelligence/social media monitoring reports related to the incident. However, the request was formally denied in a letter received by Bloomberg News on July 11.

Secret Service Ending White House Cocaine Investigation

The FBI lab couldn't find fingerprints or sufficient DNA on the cocaine bag.

Of course the Secret Service is ending the investigation into the cocaine found at the White House.

The FBI lab couldn't find fingerprints or sufficient DNA on the cocaine bag:
In a statement Thursday, after briefing members of Congress on the matter, the Secret Service said the cocaine was found on July 2 "inside a receptacle used to temporarily store electronic and personal devices prior to entering the West Wing."

The Secret Service said it has been investigating "how this item entered the White House," including a "methodical review of security systems and protocols."

"This review included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the discovery of the substance and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found," the Secret Service said. It said investigators developed "a pool of known persons for comparison of forensic evidence gleaned from the FBI's analysis of the substance's packaging."
Plus no surveillance cameras:
"Therefore, the Secret Service is not able to compare evidence against the known pool of individuals," the Secret Service said, adding that the FBl's evaluation of the substance "also confirmed that it was cocaine."

"There was no surveillance video footage found that provided investigative leads or any other means for investigators to identify who may have deposited the found substance in this area," the Secret Service continued. "Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered."

"At this time, the Secret Service's investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence," they said.
Who are the known persons? Last week, Sen Ton Cotton sent a letter to the Secret Service with six questions. The first question asked for a list of those who have access to the White House without having to go through any security screening.

It doesn't help that officials changed the location of the cocaine three times: the residence's library, a heavily trafficked entrance, and then a secure but still heavily trafficked area by the Situation Room.

I guess the Secret Service settled for the heavily trafficked entrance as the discovery spot. Probably easier to say and get away with saying they couldn't find the culprit.

Russia MOD says Wagner has handed over thousands of tonnes of weaponry

Vladimir Putin said mercenary group would be dismantled after Yevgeny Prigozhin's short-lived mutiny

The Wagner group has handed thousands of tonnes of weaponry and ammunition to Russia's regular army, the country's defence ministry has said, as Moscow moves to bring the rebellious mercenary force under its control.

The ministry said it had received more than 2,000 pieces of equipment, including hundreds of tanks and more than 2,500 tonnes of ammunition.

The handover suggests that the Wagner head, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is following through with at least some aspects of the deal he made with the Kremlin last month under which his forces called off their short-lived mutiny.

Under the deal brokered by the Belarusian dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, Prigozhin abandoned what he called a "march for justice" on Moscow by thousands of his recruits in exchange for safe passage to exile in Belarus. Criminal charges against Prigozhin were also dropped against his group as part of the agreement.

Comment: RT also reports:
The Wagner Group private military company has surrendered more than 2,000 pieces of military hardware to Russia's military inventory, the country's Defense Ministry said on Wednesday. The transfer process is going "according to plan" and is nearing completion.

The inventory includes hundreds of heavy weaponry pieces, including main battle tanks of various types, multiple rocket launcher systems, self-propelled and towed artillery, anti-aircraft systems, and other combat vehicles, the ministry said in a statement. The military also released a video, showing rows of tracked and wheeled combat vehicles, as well as other equipment kept at undisclosed locations.

Dozens of combat vehicles transferred by the PMC group "have never been used in a combat environment," the military noted. The group also surrendered over 2,500 tons of assorted ammunition as well as around 20,000 firearms.

The equipment is currently being transferred to rear field sites for maintenance, the ministry stated. Afterwards, it will be transferred to Russian military units for its "intended use," the ministry concluded.

The idea is being considered by parliament and the Defense Ministry

Moscow could place destroyed military hardware on display outside the embassies of Western nations that supplied it to Ukraine. The idea was floated in Russia's lower house of parliament, the State Duma, on Wednesday.

Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has tasked the parliament's Defense Committee with discussing the idea with the Defense Ministry to iron out the details of potential 'exhibitions'.

"The proposal to place burned [military] hardware near the embassies of those countries that send it to Ukraine is particularly interesting," Volodin stated.

If Washington makes good on its promise to send cluster munitions to Kiev, the Russian military will use its own diverse arsenal on the battlefield, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.

"If the US supplies cluster munitions to Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces will be compelled to use equivalent weapons against the Ukrainian forces, by way of response," Shoigu told reporters while visiting military factories in Tatarstan.

"It should be noted that Russia has cluster munitions, as they say, for all occasions," Shoigu added. "They are much more effective than American ones, their range is broader and more diverse."

Biden administration says it opposes using 'merit' in military personnel decisions

The Biden administration on Monday slammed the Republican-controlled House's version of 2024 National Defense Authorization Act for requiring military personnel decisions to be based on merit and not race or gender, among other provisions. The Biden administration, in a Statement of Administration Policy, said:
"The Administration strongly opposes the House's sweeping attempts...to eliminate the Department's longstanding [Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access] efforts and related initiatives to promote a cohesive and inclusive force."
The House's NDAA contains a number of Republican-authored provisions to roll back the Biden administration's efforts to push Marxist-based Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the entire Department of Defense establishment, including the military. It also contains a number of Republican-backed provisions to give troops kicked out over following the Biden administration's COVID-19 mandate a path back into the military with backpay.

The Biden administration specifically said it opposed Section 364, which would prohibit the defense secretary from appointing or employing a military or civilian employee whose duties include diversity, equity, and inclusion with a rank or grade above O-2 (military) or GS-10 (civilian).

It also said it opposed Section 523, which required the Department of Defense to issue policy that all military accessions, assignments, selections, or promotions must adhere to merit-based principles and that quotas are prohibited.

Kremlin tells Türkiye to wise up about EU

Nations of the 27-state bloc "don't want to see" Ankara as a member, Russia has warned...

Russia has no illusions about Türkiye's commitments to NATO but would urge Ankara to look realistically about its chances of joining the EU, Moscow has said. The Turkish president had previously linked Sweden's accession to the US-led military bloc with his own nation's long-standing wish to become part of the European community.

Russia realizes that Türkiye has commitments to NATO, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Tuesday.
"We never put on rose-tinted glasses in that regard. But neither should Ankara wear the proverbial accessory when it comes to EU membership. Calling a spade a spade, nobody wants to see Türkiye in Europe. I am referring to Europeans."
The remarks followed Turkey's apparent agreement to drop its objection to Sweden joining NATO. The process cannot be completed unless all members of the 31-strong military organization agree to it, and Ankara has voiced objections.

Comment: Turkey's strength and weakness is its propensity to stay the middle ground.

Comment: A bribe-em White House agrees to sell Ankara F-16 fighter jets for dropping opposition to Sweden NATO bid:
US President Joe Biden's administration has agreed to push forward with the controversial sale of F-16 fighter jets to Türkiye, just hours after Ankara stopped obstructing Sweden's accession to NATO.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed the decision on Tuesday, saying Biden would work with Congress to get the arms deal finalized.
"He has placed no caveats or conditions. He intends to move forward with that transfer in consultation with Congress."
A group of US senators threatened to block the aircraft deal in February unless Ankara approved the bid by Sweden and Finland to join the US-led military bloc. Finland became a NATO member in April.

Despite the change in Ankara's position, some US lawmakers still have qualms over the F-16 deal. The US must "find a way to ensure that Turkey's aggression against its neighbors ceases," said Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat. He also has raised concerns about Turkish human rights and Ankara's overflights through Greek airspace.

Menendez added that he wants assurances that Türkiye will not use the warplanes "to act in the belligerent way they have against other NATO allies, not just Greece."

In 2019, Washington removed Türkiye from a program to buy F-35 fighter jets because of Ankara's purchase of Russian-made S-400 air defense systems.

Ankara requested US approval in October 2021 for a $20 billion purchase that would include new F-16 fighters, built by Lockheed Martin, as well as around 80 modernization kits for its existing warplanes.

US cluster bombs already in Ukraine - military

Cluster munitions

Kiev has already received cluster munitions promised by the US, a Ukrainian general has told CNN. Washington has attempted to justify the delivery of the controversial arms by claiming that Ukraine would minimize the long-term threat to civilians when using them.

"We just got them, we haven't used them yet, but they can radically change [the battlefield]," Brig. Gen. Aleksandr Tarnavsky told the US news network on Thursday. He added that he expects Ukrainian troops to push Russian forces back from their defensive positions thanks to the delivery.

Cluster bombs discharge dozens of submunitions over a large area. Some of the bomblets fail to detonate and can maim or kill years after their deployment. Over 100 nations, including many NATO members, have banned their production and use.

The US decided to supply Ukraine with old 155mm artillery shells with cluster payloads stockpiled during the Cold War. President Joe Biden described the move as a stopgap, claiming that Kiev's foreign backers had no regular munitions of that caliber left to share, and that they were in the process of ramping up production.

Bill Gates destroying the environment with mosquitoes?

Mosquito Gates
© Armstrong Economics
I rank Bill Gates up there with Klaus Schwab and George Soros as one of the greatest threats, combined with others, that will fulfill our computer's forecast projecting the decline & fall of Western Civilization post-2032 and the sharp decline in world population. That has been his family's goal since creating Planned Parenthood to promote abortions in minority areas to reduce the population of particular races. That was the clever way to turn eugenics into a woman's right.

Now, Gates is dangerously altering the environment and there is no understanding of the profound damage he is causing this time all while he is pretending to care about the planet and humanity. In 2022, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved releasing more than 2 billion genetically altered male mosquitoes in Florida and California following a pilot program in the Florida Keys dating back to 2020. Of course, the so-called fact-checkers only spread their own disinformation and appear to be so hateful and biased that they support anything that undermines whatever is said by their opposition regardless of the truth.

Cases of malaria have emerged in the US for the first time in 20 years. They focus on the statement when this project was released. Oxitec's work in the US has involved releasing genetically modified, male Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes in the Florida Keys with the purpose of combating insect-borne diseases such as Dengue fever and the Zika virus. The intent is to have the modified mosquitoes mate with female mosquitoes and pass on a genetic change in a protein that would render any female offspring unable to survive — thus reducing the population of the insects that transmit disease.

First of all, they just assume that the Oxitec press release was telling the truth. They paint the picture that malaria was not among this disease they claimed they were targeting. There was no investigation to see if that was true or not. Or, that Gates would destroy our environment just as Australia did by importing one species to eliminate another and upset their entire ecosystem. Australia learned its lesson and you cannot import any animal whatsoever without the approval of the government.
