Netanyahu won't accept Gaza ceasefire that ends war - Al Jazeera

The Israeli PM had reportedly previously endorsed a US plan to end the fighting.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out accepting a ceasefire proposal that includes ending the war in Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday.

The report comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with the Israeli leader on Monday to discuss efforts to reduce tensions and reach an agreement on a ceasefire and release of hostages. Blinken claimed that Netanyahu had accepted the US ceasefire proposal.

The White House later claimed that significant progress had been made during the latest round of talks involving officials from Israel, Qatar, the US, and Egypt in the Qatari capital of Doha last week. Hamas skipped the negotiations, citing the absence of a clear plan.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Netanyahu reportedly told hostage families that a ceasefire deal may not be reached and that the Israeli military will not relinquish control of the Gazan-Egyptian border, a key demand of the Palestinian militant group.

Harris polls "much less rosy" than reported, SuperPAC admits

Harris

The founder of the main outside spending group backing Kamala Harris for president says their own internal opinion polling is "much less rosy" than public polls - and has warned Democrats that they face much closer races in key states.

"Our numbers are much less rosy than what you're seeing in the public," said Future Forward super PAC president Chauncey McLean during a Monday event hosted by the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.

According to public polls - which, as you'll see below, are largely bullshit - Harris is leading Donald Trump in several national polls by FiveThirtyEight; 46.6% to 43.8%, and has allegedly pulled ahead in several battleground states, Reuters reports.

Except that's not what Future Forward is seeing...

Scotland suspends meetings with Israel

The Scottish foreign secretary was previously accused of normalizing ties with the Jewish state.

Scotland said it has suspended all meetings with Israeli officials until there is "real progress" towards peace in Gaza. The announcement follows criticism of a secret meeting between Scottish External Affairs Secretary Angus Robertson and an Israeli diplomat earlier this month.

In a statement on Monday, Robertson essentially apologized for meeting Israel's Deputy Ambassador to the UK Daniela Grudsky Ekstein two weeks ago, insisting that it did not "represent a normalization of relations" between the Israeli and Scottish governments.

It was Ekstein who requested the meeting, Robertson said.
"I saw it as an opportunity to express Scotland's unwavering position on the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. No one intended that this meeting be presented as legitimizing the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza. The Scottish government has been consistent in our unequivocal condemnation of the atrocities we have witnessed in Gaza.

"Going forward, it is clear that... it would not be appropriate to accept any invitation for a further meeting... until such time as real progress has been made towards peace."
Robertson faced backlash from the ruling Scottish National Party (SNP), with some critics calling for him to be suspended, and describing him as "a liability."

Ukrainian Army on war-crime spree in Kursk - Chechen commander

Major

Major General Apty Alaudinov has claimed to have seen footage showing numerous Russian civilians being executed at point-blank range.

Ukrainian forces that have occupied part of Kursk Region have committed atrocities against civilians while using them as human shields, the commander of the Akhmat Special Forces from Russia's Chechen Republic has claimed.

In a post on Telegram on Monday, Apty Alaudinov recounted an episode in the border town of Sudzha, where he said Ukrainian troops had entered a residential house with children inside. "In this building, they settled down on the ground floor... and chased children and teachers upstairs to use them as a shield," he said, adding that this practice is widespread.

He claimed that first-person footage filmed by the Ukrainians had ended up in Russian hands, and showed the brutality of Kiev's forces. Alaudinov said he had no words to describe Ukrainians other than "fascists and Satanists."

"I received a huge number of photos in which I saw civilians who were simply shot at point-blank [range], in the head and from the back. All these civilians, unfortunately, died," he said, expressing his condolences and vowing revenge.

Biden approved 'classified' nuclear strategy focusing on 'coordinated nuclear confrontation' against China, Russia, N. Korea

biden us korea china russia
President Joe Biden approved a classified document in March directing US forces to get ready for potential "coordinated nuclear confrontations involving Russia, China and North Korea," the New York Times reported Tuesday.

The document, which is revised approximately every four years, is classified to such a degree that there are no electronic versions available. Only a limited number of hard copies have been distributed to select national security officials and Pentagon leaders, the newspaper reported.

The newspaper added, however, that in recent speeches, two senior administration officials were allowed to allude to the change prior to a more comprehensive and unclassified update to Congress that is anticipated before Biden's term concludes.

Comment: Indeed it clearly isn't secret. And one supposes that, in addition to the other reasons noted in the comment above, the release may also be intended as yet another way to try provoke Russia, and China, into overreacting; which, of course, they won't.

However, the West-Israel's provocations are fast escalating and they may go too far, in one way or another, and so the multinodal world is certainly preparing for every eventuality:

The US, UK, and Poland trained the units that broke through the border earlier this month, the SVR has said

NATO countries helped Ukraine plan and carry out the ongoing incursion into Russia's Kursk Region, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has said. Moscow previously accused the US and other Western countries of enabling Kiev to strike deep inside Russia and target civilians.

"According to available information, the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Region was prepared with the involvement of the security agencies of the US, Britain and Poland," the SVR said in a statement published by Izvestia on Wednesday.

According to the SVR, the Ukrainian units that crossed the border earlier this month underwent training in Britain and Germany.

Foreign fighters involved in Kursk assault - Ukrainian soldier
Kiev's forces were communicating in English and Polish on military radios, a captured serviceman has said

A Ukrainian soldier who was captured in Kursk Region amid Kiev's ongoing cross-border offensive has claimed that foreign mercenaries are fighting for Ukraine on Russian soil.

Footage of an interview with the detainee was released by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) on Monday. The agency claimed that the man shown in the footage was captured with the help of local residents in Kursk Region. The Ukrainian identified himself as a 26-year-old member of his country's 80th Air Assault Brigade, which is taking part in the offensive.

Ruslan Poltoratsky, as he introduced himself, said he first heard foreign radio chatter when crossing the Russian border and initially thought it was some kind of interference.

"They spoke in English, Polish, maybe French. I did not understand them, called on the radio to repeat, and only heard gibberish in response," he said.

He later concluded that the communications were local, since Ukrainian military officials were responding.

"There was something about houses and gunshots in the background," he claimed.

Poltoratsky also mentioned that a brigade "made up of those who used to be in jail" was taking part in the Kursk Region offensive. He was apparently referring to a unit composed of convicts who volunteered in exchange for early release from prison.

Ukraine has been using foreign fighters to bolster its military since the early days of the conflict with Russia, creating an 'International Legion' [Wiki] for volunteers. Moscow has described them as mercenaries and has accused Western nations of facilitating the recruitment of their citizens with combat experience.

The practice of embedding foreign fighters into the Ukrainian military predates the ongoing hostilities, as evidenced by a group known as the Georgian Legion [Wiki, RT article]. It features Georgian citizens in its ranks and was created in 2014. The unit is also in Kursk Region, according to a source cited last week by military news outlet The War Zone.

The legion is known for videos in which members are shown torturing and executing Russian prisoners in March 2022. Russia considers the Georgian Legion a terrorist organization and a tool of Ukrainian military intelligence.

SOTT Focus: Election "Polycrisis": Should We Expect Multiple "October Surprises" From The Deep State-WEF-UN Cabal?

polycrisis

Are multiple planned "crises" just around the corner? Maybe "emergencies" serious enough to throw the election? Maybe postpone the election? Even cancel the election? How about a new pandemic? (Fears over bird flu and monkeypox are being amped up now.) Or a catastrophic cyber attack? (The globalists at the World Economic Forum, the Council on Foreign Relations, and other Deep State institutions have been prepping us for that for the past few years.) How about a massive, coordinated series of terrorist attacks like those in Gaza last October? (The Biden-Harris regime has conveniently opened our border and invited millions of migrants — including known terrorists — to invade our country.)

Or perhaps another round of nationwide riots and mayhem a la George Floyd/BLM? (A combination of back-to-college pro-Palestine protests and a race-baiting police shooting should provide sufficient sparks for a coast-to-coast conflagration.) Or, how about Judge Juan Merchan ordering Donald Trump to jail in the totally political "hush money" lawfare case — just days or weeks before the election? (Merchan has shown himself to be conflicted, completely biased, and willing to do Team Biden/Harris's bidding in locking up its opposition). Or, another assassination attempt? Maybe all of the above? And more?

Ukrainians will soon realize the West 'used them' - Lukashenko

The Eastern European country will be dumped, the president of Belarus has warned

The people of Ukraine will eventually recognize that the US and its allies have treated them as cannon fodder, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said.

In an interview with Russia 1 TV released on Sunday, Lukashenko argued that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has lost the support of ordinary Ukrainians and that most of the "rabid nationalists" who once set the agenda in Kiev have died by now.

"When they realize that they were simply used and then they were dumped, once the Ukrainians realize it, they will come to us," Lukashenko said. "We are going to rebuild everything that has been destroyed but to a higher standard."

Comment: Lukashenko is hopeful about the future, but realistic enough to acknowledge that nothing is guaranteed.

Mpox is 'not the new Covid' - WHO

Monkeypox virus
© Getty Images
Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, does not pose the same public health threat as Covid-19, and will not lead to a "cycle of panic" and lockdowns, Hans Kluge, the World Health Organization's (WHO) regional director for Europe, has said.

Earlier this month, the WHO declared mpox a public health emergency of international concern, the same designation it gave to Covid-19 in early 2020. While a mild variant of the virus - dubbed Clade 2 - spread around the world in 2022, a more infectious strain - Clade 1b - has killed hundreds of people in central Africa and was detected last week in Sweden.

In a UN briefing on Tuesday, Kluge said that by supplying enough vaccines to affected nations in Africa and encouraging close observation of mpox patients, the spread of the disease can be controlled.

"Are we going to go in lockdown in the WHO European region, is it another Covid-19? The answer is clearly: 'no,'" Kluge stated.

Comment: It's good to know that a disease the majority of people will never get won't lead to a dramatic restructuring of the world economy and social order.

Moscow accuses Western media of 'hybrid aggression'

Western journalists echoing Ukrainian narratives while reporting from the occupied parts of Russia's Kursk Region are part of a massive hybrid warfare campaign aimed at Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Monday.

Zakharova was commenting on recent incidents involving journalists with the Italian state broadcaster Rai News 24 who illegally crossed into Russia while accompanied by Ukrainian troops, and then reported from areas in the Russian border region held by Kiev's forces. One such crew also interviewed a Ukrainian fighter openly wearing the insignia of a Waffen SS division.

Russian law enforcement authorities will "provide a legal assessment of the actions of the foreign media correspondents," who entered Russia in violation of national law, Zakharova told the Russian newspaper Vzglyad, adding that "criminal cases have been opened against a number of such foreign media representatives over illegal border crossing."
