Will the Trump administration finally seize a golden opportunity to punish Clinton charity fraudsters?

Four years ago, Donald Trump's campaign attacked Hillary Clinton for her brazen corruption, deriving personal and political gain from "The Clinton Foundation" in a brutal advertisement as well as on the stump.

The TV spot hits Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, on controversies related to her family's foundation, stating that "staggering amounts of cash poured into the Clinton Foundation from criminals, dictators, countries that hate America" and that "Hillary cut deals for donors."

At that time, we did not appreciate just how far outside strict laws a network of supposed charities had operated, starting Oct. 23, 1997 as Bill and Hillary Clinton flirted with disaster, dead broke with even more looming expenses to come fighting impeachment and a raft of scandals.

Thereafter, we saw the miraculous improvement in Clinton family fortunes as simply a money scandal -- not for what it truly is: solid evidence that rich donors, lawyers, accountants and others in both political parties have captured the Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service and other regulatory bodies to protect themselves and to persecute their enemies.

Someone tell Kamala Harris: NYT says no evidence Trump owes Russia money, claims otherwise are conspiracy theories

The New York Times, whose article last month on Donald Trump's tax filings set off a firestorm of accusations, now says there's no evidence the president owes money to Russia, and any suggestions otherwise are conspiracy theories.

David Enrich, the newspaper's business investigations editor, detailed in an article Tuesday some of the rumors that have been lobbed around by Democrats since the Times reported that Trump has $421 million in personally guaranteed debt. Some of the theories involve Germany's Deutsche Bank making loans to Trump because they were backstopped by Russians.

"But the theories don't hold up," Enrich wrote. Deutsche Bank confirms that all the loans in question remain on its own books. Personal guarantees by Trump, which would allow the bank to seize his assets in the event of default, ensure that risk is low.

"It is not impossible that evidence will emerge that muddles this picture," Enrich said. "For now, though, it isn't very complicated."

That hasn't stopped leftists from trying to stir up intrigue and innuendo about Trump's debts.

Lavrov: Russia sees no prospect of prolonging New START treaty with US, but not closing the door on negotiations

Moscow doesn't believe the New START treaty with the US can be continued, as achieving common ground is impossible against the backdrop of ultimatums employed by Washington, the Russian Foreign Minister said on Wednesday.

In his interview with three Russian radio stations, Sergey Lavrov was asked if he saw any prospect of the two countries agreeing to prolong the landmark deal until 2026. The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or New START, obliges Russia and the US to reduce the number of their strategic nuclear missile launchers by half, and it expires in February. He replied:
"There is no such prospect. I personally don't see such a prospect. My colleagues who work ... with the American delegation don't see such a prospect either. We're simply explaining that talking through the language of ultimatums is impossible."
However, Lavrov added that Moscow would never say it was closing the door on negotiations or curbing contact with Washington on the issue.

Comment: With the election commanding full and furious attention, a late START could still occur to Trump's benefit.

As fighting continues over Nagorno-Karabakh says Armenia knew war was coming, 'the question was when'

In an emotional address to the nation on Wednesday, Armenia's Prime Minister said his country was aware of Baku's plans to provoke a war over Nagorno-Karabakh, adding that Azeri attempts to smash Armenian defenses have failed.

Nikol Pashinyan, however, conceded that the disputed region controlled by Armenians, and backed by Yerevan, but considered illegally occupied in Azerbaijan, has suffered massive losses.

Fighting erupted in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27, with both Armenia and Azerbaijan accusing each other of firing the first shots. As far as Pashinyan is concerned, the outbreak of hostilities was hardly surprising.

Rock star Roger Waters: Hung out to dry by Amnesty and Bellingcat for his views on Syrian 'chemical attack'

A leaked phone call reveals that outside pressure caused Amnesty to pull its promotion of a webinar featuring Pink Floyd's Roger Waters - a vocal skeptic of the Douma 'chemical attack' that prompted Western powers to bomb Syria.

In August this year, environmental pressure group Amazon Watch broadcast an online panel discussion in support of Steven Donziger, a crusading attorney who dared try to hold US energy giant Chevron to account for widespread environmental destruction in the Amazon, and was left fighting for his life, livelihood and liberty as a result.

In February 2011, Chevron was found liable by an Ecuadorian court for contamination resulting from crude oil production in the region by its subsidiary Texaco between 1964 and 1992, in a legal action that was many years in the making and led by Donziger.

Chevron is yet to pay a penny of the settlement though, for the landmark ruling was overturned in March 2014 by a US Federal Court on highly dubious grounds - in reaching his decision, presiding Judge Lewis A. Kaplan relied heavily on the evidence of a former Ecuadorian justice who subsequently admitted to fabricating his testimony. Donziger has since been charged with contempt of court and sat under house arrest for over a year awaiting trial.

Comment: Roger Water's commitment to human rights is unquestionable. That makes Amnesty's capitulation to pressure even more egregious.

Checkmate: House Judiciary Committee Republicans republished New York Post story on their gov't website

After Twitter blocked a bombshell New York Post story on Wednesday alleging to have files from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, Republicans came up with a clever plan to get around the big tech giant's censoring.

The House Judiciary Committee Republicans on Wednesday republished the New York Post story on their official government website.

If Twitter was going to keep playing this game, the company was going to have to block users from being able to see a government website, which certainly would not be a good look for the social media company that has come under fire on numerous occasions for disproportionately censoring conservative voices over liberal ones.

Kamala Harris' travel has been canceled through the weekend after two people she recently traveled with tested positive for COVID-19, Joe Biden's campaign manager said Thursday.

The Democratic vice presidential candidate's communications director Liz Allen as well as a non-staff flight crew member were diagnosed with the bug after flying with Harris on Oct. 8, according to campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon.

She said Harris was not in close contact with either on the flight but that the campaign was nixing her schedule through Sunday "out of an abundance of caution and in line with our campaign's commitment to the highest levels of precaution."

The California senator will instead participate in "robust and aggressive" virtual campaign events and return to in-person campaigning Monday.

O'Malley Dillon said the campaign learned of the two diagnoses late Wednesday.

"Neither of these people have had contact with Vice President Biden, Senator Harris or any other staffers since testing positive or in the 48 hours prior to their positive test results," she said in a statement.

Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans on Thursday said they will hold a hearing Tuesday to compel Twitter's chief executive to testify about censorship of The Post's reporting on Ukraine- and China-related documents from an alleged Hunter Biden hard drive.

"This is election interference and we're 19 days out from an election. It has no precedent in the history of democracy. The Senate Judiciary Committee wants to know what the hell is going on," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told reporters in a Senate office building hallway.

"Chairman Lindsey Graham and I have discussed this at length and the committee today will be noticing a markup on Tuesday to issue a subpoena to Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Friday."

Did CIA Director 'Bloody Gina' Haspel coordinate with the anti-Trump conspirators?

gina haspel
© Drew Angerer/Getty ImagesCIA Director Gina Haspel (center) arrives at the U.S. Capitol on January 8, 2020 in Washington, DC.
Gina Haspel is the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Haspel is the first career clandestine service officer to become director, and the first woman. She was the CIA Chief of Station in London -- twice, and that repeat assignment is very unusual. What is most interesting is the timing of Haspel's last tour as London Station Chief -- from 2014 to early 2017. That is the same timeframe (specifically, the late summer of 2016) when the FBI approached foreign policy academic and "utility government operative" Stefan Halper to begin the operation targeting Carter Page and George Papadopoulos in an FBI-designed foreign counterintelligence operation, against Team Trump, to be launched in Cambridge, England.

Nothing speculative here -- the Justice Department Inspector General pegged the exact date of the FBI/Halper meeting as August 10, 2016. Halper had been on contract (again) with the U.S. government since the Iowa Caucuses began in October 2015. For the sake of brevity, I am not discussing Halper's role in targeting former Defense Intelligence Agency Director, Lieutenant General Mike Flynn. That is another column for another day -- and certainly Haspel knows a great deal about that, as well.

New Zealand anti-vax group Advance NZ claims election interference after Facebook takes down party's page, citing 'misinformation'

Advance NZ, which has garnered controversy for its anti-vaccination stance, is claiming "election interference" after Facebook took down the party's page just two days before the election.

Facebook told 1 NEWS the page was taken down after "repeatedly breaching our misinformation policies".

"We don't allow anyone to share misinformation on our platforms about Covid-19 that could lead to imminent physical harm," a spokesperson said.

But party co-leader Billy Te Kahika bristled this afternoon at the action, issuing a statement on behalf of Advance NZ.

Comment: With New Zealanders chafing under some of the strictest covid lockdown policies in the world, no wonder the MSM and its social media cronies want to squelch any accurate information that would encourage unrest.
