Best of the Web: Life In Hell: Germans, Australians forcefully dragged to government COVID quarantine camps

Over a dozen people have been forcibly taken to government isolation centers in Germany, while hundreds are being held in similar centers in Australia as Western countries continue to use mandatory COVID quarantine centers all in the name putting an end to COVID-19.

Germany has started including prisons as quarantine centers and Australia has taken a similar measure by using isolated camps under 24-hour surveillance for the same.

A recent survey by the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag shows that at least 15 people in 10 major German cities have been transferred to quarantine centers since the beginning of the year.

Welt am Sonntag reports that 15 people were violating the COVID-19 requirements for house isolation, 11 in Munich, two in Stuttgart and one in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

The full number is likely to be higher because officials in Berlin and Leipzig have not submitted any figures to the paper.

Best of the Web: Pope Francis compares EU's attempt to discourage use of word 'Christmas' to secular dictatorships like Nazism

© Vatican Media.Pope Francis speaks during an in-flight press conference on the journey from Athens to Rome, Dec. 6, 2021.
Pope Francis said on Monday that a withdrawn document discouraging European Commission staff from using the word "Christmas" was an "anachronism."

The pope was asked to comment on the 32-page internal document, called "#UnionOfEquality. European Commission Guidelines for Inclusive Communication," during his in-flight press conference en route from Greece to Italy on Dec. 6.

He noted that a series of ideologies had attempted to pull up Europe's Christian roots.

"You refer to the European Union document on Christmas... this is an anachronism," he said.

Comment: Over the years, Pope Francis has been a bit hit and miss, but his comments above reveal that he has some idea of the nefarious agenda afoot on our planet, and he is willing to, sometimes, speak out against it:

Billionaire Democrat donor George Soros has bankrolled District Attorneys in America's most crime ravaged cities, where criminals are being allowed to walk out of jail on low cash bonds or aren't even being charged.

Soros, the most prolific Democratic donor, is most known for giving to Presidents Clinton and Obama but he has also been pumping money into a far-left effort to overhaul the criminal justice system by giving millions to a network of woke prosecutors in Democratic races.

Among them is Kim Foxx, the State's Attorney for Cook County, Chicago, where murder is at its highest in nearly 30 years. In 2020, Soros donated $2million to a PAC that backed Foxx in her re-election campaign. She won the race and has since offered deferred prosecutions and softball deals to criminals.

In 2021, there were more murders in Chicago than in any other year since 1994. Soros bolstered her re-election campaign by donating to the Illinois Justice and Public Safety PAC.

A man lunged at far-right presidential hopeful Eric Zemmour, grabbing him by the neck as Zemmour was about to kick off his first campaign event. The event was marred by scuffles between his supporters and anti-racist activists.

Zemmour was making his way to the stage of his inaugural campaign event in the Paris suburb of Villepinte on Sunday, when a man appears to have charged at him, briefly locking his arms behind the candidate's neck.

The incident was captured on video, and the clip has been making the rounds online.

Best of the Web: Record December snow in French Pyrénées - and there's more on the way

Snow fell in abundance this weekend, like here at Mourtis (Haute-Garonne)

It has already been a remarkable December for snow in the Pyrénées - but more heavy falls are forecast from Wednesday, while the Alps are also set to enjoy more fresh snow.

The weekend was marked by sustained snowfall in the Pyrénées, with an average of between 50cm and 70cm of snow at altitudes above 1200m, rising in some areas towards western areas of the mountain chain to 1m.

According to Météo-France, the level of snowfall in the west of the Pyrénées is remarkable for the time of year, especially since accumulations were considered 'very low' as recently as November 24th. The forecaster said the winter snow covering below 2,000m - the average now is 1m at 1500m - is among the best for the beginning of December and equivalent to normal levels in mid-January.

Best of the Web: 'Mentally fragile' State Department officials broke down over disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal

As has been extensively chronicled on Revolver, the American regime is a crumbling edifice. Every day, it becomes less able to win wars, maintain a border, or even keep the lights on. Every day, it drifts further away from anything resembling a real meritocracy. The result? A politically-sifted ruling class that is not only incapable of finding objective truth, but incapable of tolerating truth when it finds it.

But on the bright side, as the regime decays, it at least looks very funny while doing so. The dystopia playing out before our eyes is a tragedy, but it's a tragedy in clown's makeup — often literally so. Men in dresses are trotted out as trailblazing "female" admirals. Barely-literate Congresswomen babble incoherently about why the police should be defunded as they enjoy taxpayer-funded security. Fifteen FBI agents are sent to investigate a garage door pull to see if it might be a noose. To modify the old proverb: Those whom the gods would destroy, they first will make ridiculous.

And no part of the Globalist American Empire is more ridiculous than the State Department.

Best of the Web: German Chancellor Merkel finally steps down after 16 years: Gives farewell address at strange torch-lit military ceremony

Actual photo of the military band at Merkel's departure ceremony
Outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Germans to stand up to hatred, at a military ceremony Thursday bidding her farewell after 16 years in office.

Merkel was honored with a traditional military musical performance and march in front of almost all the country's political elite — save for the far-right Alternative for Germany, who weren't invited.

Comment: They're not 'far-right', and they're the largest opposition party in Germany.

No plebs were allowed, by the way, 'because Corona'...

"Our democracy also lives from the fact that wherever hatred and violence are seen as a legitimate means of pursuing one's interests, our tolerance as democrats has to find its limit," said in a speech ahead of the ceremony.

Comment: And boy did she find it, introducing segregation between the 'vaxxed' and 'unvaxxed', and pushing mandatory mass vaccination, as her last acts in power.

The event, which was held at the Defense Ministry rather than in a more public setting due to pandemic constraints, involved a parade and a brass band playing three songs of Merkel's choice.

The first piece was "You Forgot the Color Film" released in 1974 by East German-born punk singer Nina Hagen. In it, the singer recounts a young woman's lament that her boyfriend failed to take color pictures of their beach holiday.

Comment: Yeah, new measures like fencing in public spaces to segregate people on the basis of arbitrary 'vaccine status', and cooking up ever more tyrannical ways to force EVERYONE to take an experimental gene 'therapy'...

Best of the Web: 'Inadequate' evidence for vaccine mandate for NHS staff, House of Lords report finds - 126,000 staff would quit if forced

injection arm
© INGimageCase for mandatory Covid-19 jabs for NHS staff 'not strong enough'
The government's case for implementing mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations for NHS staff in England has failed to address how the health service will cope when thousands of staff leave their jobs as a result, a report has warned.

A new report, published today by the House of Lords Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee, has ruled that the government's evidence for the move was "broad-brush" and "superficial".
"The house may expect to be provided with some very strong evidence to support this policy choice, and DHSC has signally failed to do so" Committee report
It added that the potential benefits of the proposal seemed "disproportionately small", given the subsequent costs for recruitment and the disruption it would have on the health service.

Comment: So, were it not for NHS staff willing to sacrifice their livelihoods by threatening to quit, the vaccinate mandate would likely have gone ahead, despite there being no evidence that they were necessary.

Note that these same considerations weren't given to the estimated 50,000 unvaccinated care home staff or the residents they provide care for, because that mandate was pushed through just under a month ago, and already care homes are closing or suffering a dangerous lack of staff. Meanwhile we were told that these mandates were necessary to protect the vulnerable.

Comment: It's notable that numerous countries in the West in recent years have tried to ram through inadequate (and insidious) proposals of all kinds that would drastically change the norms of society - from euthanasia, to protest, to emergency powers - however it's a rarity that these proposals are actually challenged, the vast majority get passed.

One imagines that one of the reasons the NHS mandate did not is because the fall out would lead to a backlash that, ultimately, would interfere with other aspects of the establishment's nefarious agenda which it needs to get through first: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: NAZI Redux - Covid Camps in Australia, Mandatory Vaccinations in EU

Best of the Web: NZ: Pfizer document concedes large increase in adverse event reactions to its 'vaccine'

Pfizer Vaccine
© Reuters
  • Document released by Pfizer apparently as a result of a Freedom Of Information court order in the USA reveals a vast array of previously unknown vaccine adverse effects compiled from official sources around the world.
  • Pfizer concedes this is 'a large increase' in adverse event reports and that even this huge volume is under reported.
  • Over 100+ diseases are listed, many very serious.
  • This document was compiled by Pfizer in the very early days of the vaccine rollout in NZ but was possibly not supplied to our government.
  • We examine the implications for government.

Comment: Anybody who has done any homework on the Pfizer company will not be surprised to see this evidence of fraudulent behaviour. It does beg the question as to why governments, in New Zealand and around the globe, have taken the Pfizer-produced research and trusted it, without any form of peer review.

Best of the Web: Make skepticism great again: The replication crisis in science and what it means for the rest of us

galileo inquisiton painting
Galileo Faces the Roman Inquisition - Cristiano Banti
As the cultural edifices of western civilization are torn down one by one, there's one institution whose prestige and authority continues to grow - science. Respect for scientists has, in many quarters, been transformed into a form of worship. And questioning their authority akin to heresy. Yet this confidence is often misplaced. A disturbing number of scientists have been proven to be charlatans, their methods slipshod and their results bogus. Surveying numerous disciplines, Peter Shawn Taylor explains the implications of what's known as the "replication crisis" and reveals how science is trying to fix itself. Even non-scientists should be paying attention. — Peter Shawn Taylor

Yesterday it was social psychology. Today it's marine biology. Tomorrow, could it be Canadian history and the rest of society?

The sciences are currently grappling with a significant loss of credibility that has been called the "replication crisis." This crisis stems from a widening recognition that many published academic findings - including foundational work in some disciplines - cannot be replicated and, accordingly, cannot be independently verified. Both of these conditions are key elements of the modern scientific method. As a result, many well-cited scientific works long considered to reveal important truths are now considered unreliable or hopelessly biased. Some are the product of outright fraud. A recent example with a strong Canadian connection illustrates the problem.
