Yes, but much of that is thanks to our 9-11 friends in the House of Saud who have increased production, which hurts Russia and Venezuela simultaneously in revenue decline. Of course, for China and some others, decreasing their imports is easy as the Western economies decline, thus less demand for manufactured goods from those countries.
Bailouts of the banks props up the market, but doesn't help the economy much, it just prevents further job losses in that sector from going parabolic. It wouldn't take much to 'pull the rug' given that the only thing keeping it in place are these central bank bailouts and freebies from the Fed et al. That rug sure looks worn and in need of repair, but the workmen aren't allowed to tend to it, rather the contrary seems to be the case, as if it is known that those rips and tears won't matter soon.
Too bad this last 'wedge' policy of 'divide and conquer' didn't work, more direct means of engagement might be needed before the puppet show comes to an end.
