Drew Berry is a biomedical animator whose scientifically accurate and aesthetically rich visualisations reveal the microscopic world inside our bodies to a wide range of audiences. His animations have exhibited at venues such as the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Royal Institute of Great Britain and the University of Geneva. In 2010 he received a MacArthur Fellowship "Genius Award".

Before I get to my little comment, here's a [Link] to an animation of cell apoptosis or the ordered destruction of a worn out or damaged cell.
The other day there was quite a lot of comment on Laura's thread about the fundraiser where one person wrote at this https://www.sott.net/article/241810-How-is-the-World-Going-to-End-in-2012-#comment64672 :

Just keep right on doing what you have been doing: Waking people up, however you can.
I am leaning towards a slow descent into Ice Age, some nasty plagues to boot, more wars and jackboots. A stew of trouble. I'll probably be picked up and indefinitely detained, being high on their list. I speak out too much. Psychopaths have a weakness, and it has to do with wisdom."
To which I replied: "Pyschopaths -- have -- a weakness ? ? It seems to me they -- are -- a weakness. A rent in the social fabric if you will . . ."
And Laura commented, "Psychopaths may actually be a fail-safe self-destruct mechanism of humanity. When population exceeds the planet's carrying capacity, when waste and wanton destruction of the biosphere exceed certain levels, psychopaths increase in the population which is hard-wired to follow them, and voila! The Earth's problems solved.
Thing is, the Living System really doesn't care about humanity, per se, it only cares about the survival of the Primary Life Design Platform and that can survive in a bacterium, mold, cockroach, whatever, and the System can rebuild itself over the next billion years or so.
Certainly, evolution has provided a marvelous creature for the interface with spirit/information fields, but if it threatens the system overall, it will be taken out. And it looks like that is what is happening."
I replied, "In a session years back I recall that in respect of the 3,600 year shot blasting cycle the Cs observing that, " . . . earth benefits from periodic cleansing" or words to that effect."
And I was going to make a little word play about PPs maybe being something of an apotheosis of apoptosis but decided that was bordering on simply glib.
Now, following on from the link to the work pointed out here I come across Barry's work on apoptosis. Funny peculiar, as my mother used to say . . .
