Garden Grove - Authorities are investigating the death of a mentally ill man who was shocked with a Taser while being subdued by Garden Grove police.
An autopsy was conducted Thursday on 32-year-old Andy Tran but there was no immediate word on the cause of death.
Police Lt. Dennis Ellsworth says officers received a report Wednesday of erratic behavior by Tran, who was known to them.
Officers saw Tran trying to get into his home through a window and ordered him to the front lawn to detain him. Ellsworth says there was a struggle and Tran was shocked on the thigh with a Taser.
Tran was handcuffed and paramedics were called. Ellsworth says Tran had stopped breathing by the time they arrived three minutes later. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
