ROCHESTER, NY - A lab technician at the University of Rochester was seriously hurt when some equipment fell on him around 6:30 Wednesday night.

The accident occurred at the U of R's Laboratory for Laser Energetics, where the Omega Laser is housed.

A piece of equipment, reportedly around 100 pounds, fell about six feet and landed on the technician.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and listed in guarded condition.
