Delta Air Lines Inc will offer voluntary retirement to 30,000 employees, more than half its staff of 55,000, as rising fuel costs continue to hurt the airline industry.
Delta, which has been unable to seal a merger with rival Northwest Airlines Corp in recent weeks, also said it would look to cut 700 management and administration jobs.
