Just what does it mean to say that Israel is an important ally? Doesn't an ally usually provide some sort of benefit? You know, like the allied forces of WWII working together toward the common goal of fighting against the axis forces.
As far as I can see, Israel--our "important" ally--provides this:
1) A place to dispose of billions of dollars that might otherwise find their way into our schools and health care system
2) A willing participant in the destabilization of the Middle East
As for them being a democracy, how does that have any bearing on us? Saudi Arabia isn't a democracy, yet they've historically been very cooperative with the U.S. We don't care what sort of government an ally has, we only care whether they provide a benefit to us.
Mr. Obama is proving himself to be just another lackey. That should come as no surprise. He wants to be president, and that requires bowing down to the PTB.
