What a week; world stock indexes took another serious beating while J P Morgan fired 3,000 amid speculation that total Wall Street job losses will reach 225,000 and Citibank was bailed out to the tune of $27 billion of new equity and in excess of $300 billion blanket guarantee of some of its toxic assets.

Comment: This is the concluding article in a series written in 2006 commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of JFK that we have been carrying every day up to the 45th Anniversary of that tragedy for mankind.

We began this series asking whether the Presidential election campaign promises of Barack Obama represented a sincere intention, as JFK had emulated, to change a system that is rotten to the core.

Kennedy paid the ultimate price for standing up to the corrupt, psychopathic system that has lead to untold lethal Wars supported by a complicit media and massive wealth distribution from the poor and middle classes to a wealthy elite.

Despite all the hype and slick marketing, when we have investigated who will be advising and backing Obama, it looks increasingly likely that he will be unable to live up to expectations. In fact, he seems to be little more than a new 'brand' or face of a move towards an unaccountable one world government.

One forum member points out that this possibility is further supported by Obama's selection of Timothy F. Geithner as Treasury Secretary of the USA. Mr. Geithner is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and an advocate of a one world financial system. He proposed this solution to the financial crisis days after meeting with the Bilderburger Group in an oped essay in the Financial Times

"The institutions that play a central role in money and funding markets - including the main globally active banks and investment banks - need to operate under a unified framework that provides a stronger form of consolidated supervision, with appropriate requirements for capital and liquidity."

We have considered, that however unlikely it seems, there is still the possibility that Obama could be using the system to exert change from within, learning from the tragedy that befell Kennedy after he opposed the monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that governs us. However, as one SOTT reader comments:

If Obama had the hubris for "real change", he could change things virtually overnight. I'm placing my house that nothing of any significance changes at all under Obama's administration. Still supporting Israel, still going to war on "terror", still spying on citizens, still crossing over sovereign borders, still [selling out to] billion dollar enterprise.

Change? We'll believe it when we see it!

John F. Kennedy and the Monolithic and Ruthless Conspiracy

As I mentioned in the previous chapter of the present series, I was 11 years old and in my 6th grade classroom when the news of John F. Kennedy's assassination was first broadcast. I was not ignorant of the idea that evil existed in the world, but I thought about it as something that was personal, local even, not some sort of global juggernaut stalking whole societies. John Kennedy's assassination was the event that changed all that.
Even though I was not able to fully comprehend it then, years later I was better able to articulate the raw, horrifying face of evil I had seen on that sunny November day in 1963. I didn't know then that Kennedy himself had already seen it and described it:

For we are opposed, around the world, by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy...

Well, of course, George W. Bush says the same thing, doesn't he? The difference is, Kennedy died for saying it, Bush didn't. That suggests that Kennedy had in mind the real conspiracy, and Bush either doesn't have a clue, or is busy directing attention away from it.

Joe Biden, now 66, made a peculiar speech back in October, to a group of Obama supporters in Seattle:

We're gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I'm asking you now, I'm asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you're going to have to reinforce us. There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, 'Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don't know about that decision'," Biden continued. "Because if you think the decision is sound when they're made, which I believe you will when they're made, they're not likely to be as popular as they are sound.

One of the key policy changes championed by the President-elect is Obama-Biden's New Energy for America plan. Unfortunately, this plan is based on the February 2007 findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) who announced a so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming.

Since then, a U.S. Senate Report showed that over 400 prominent scientists disputed the man-made global warming claims of the IPCC and increasing evidence shows that we are actually heading towards a new Ice Age!

Despite widespread propaganda, less than half Americans believe in man-made global warming. Will Americans embrace the new taxes and new 'green' regulations at a time when 36 million cannot afford to feed themselves? How 'green' their energy is coming from (if they can afford to heat their homes) is likely to be the least of their worries.

During his election campaign, Obama recognised the power of the big-oil and energy companies:

"I don't take money from oil companies or Washington lobbyists, and I won't let them block change anymore."

According to FactCheck.org this is not entirely true. They claim that Obama has in actual fact accepted funds from oil and gas employees and two of Obama's fund-raisers were top oil company executives.

In May 2008 in Dallas, Texas, prominent shareholders, including the Rockerfeller family urged ExxonMobil to take the problem of climate change more seriously. Given their history, should we be concerned that Big Oil is now supporting the fraudulent climate-change political agenda?

He also asked his economic advisers to prepare a "War on Poverty" program for 1964. Then, President Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy departed for a two-day trip to Texas. It was to be his last full day on Earth.

The group that claimed to be behind last night's attacks on Bombay -- the Deccan Mujahideen - has not hitherto been heard of in India, let alone in the outside world.

Boston Globe:

An e-mail message to Indian media outlets taking responsibility for the attacks said the militants were from a group called Deccan Mujahedeen. The word "Deccan" refers to a plateau in southern India, and "Mujahedeen" refers to holy warriors. Almost universally, analysts and intelligence officials said that name was unknown.

Deccan is a neighborhood of the Indian city of Hyderabad. The word also describes the middle and south of India, which is dominated by the Deccan Plateau. But the combination of the two words, said Gohel, is a "front name. This group is nonexistent."

"It's even unclear whether it's a real group or not," said Bruce Hoffman, a professor at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and the author of the book "Inside Terrorism."

Coordinated Terror Attacks

Here are some brief snippets from more-or-less randomly selected mainstream news reports pertaining to the Mumbai attacks. I have added the emphasis.

New York Times:

Coordinated terrorist attacks struck the heart of Mumbai, India's commercial capital, on Wednesday night, killing dozens in machine-gun and grenade assaults on at least two five-star hotels, the city's largest train station, a Jewish center, a movie theater and a hospital.

The NYT has a map showing where the attacks took place -- 13 locations in all.

Who Was Caught By Surprise?

Michael Evans of the [UK] Times:

British security and intelligence sources said there had been increasing concern, particularly in the United States, that a "terrorist spectacular" was on the cards. [...] The Americans have been expecting an atrocity partly because of the recent CIA success in eliminating figures in al-Qaeda, using Predator unmanned drones, firing Hellfire missiles at hideouts in the tribal regions of Pakistan. About a dozen al-Qaeda figures have been killed this year.

The Mumbai terrorist attacks began Wednesday evening and I've been reading about the situation -- and thinking hard -- ever since. The most noteworthy feature so far is the prevalence of unsubstantiated assertions that make no sense at all. I haven't been doing a systematic survey of the world's media -- just grabbing stories from wherever they pop up -- and every item I've stumbled across has been contaminated with spin. Or at least that's the way it strikes me.

Then again, maybe it's become impossible for terrorism -- and news of terrorism -- to strike me any other way. I've seen too much, I've been lied to too many times, to ever take anything at face value -- except the occasional (accidental?) admission of horrors committed by unrepentant (audacious!) perpetrators.

Now that we know the geniuses at the Pentagon have conceived and implemented a worldwide program of fomenting terrorism, nothing can ever be the same.

According to the Department of Defense, it is fighting a war on terror which requires, or allows, it to perpetrate (or con others into perpetrating) acts of "terrorism" which can then be used as pretexts for war against the "terrorist groups" thus "exposed".
