Greek Migration Minister Yiannis Mouzalas claims Belgium told his country to "push" migrants "back in the sea".

He was speaking in an interview with BBC Newsnight's Evan Davis, discussing what will happen next to the Schengen Agreement - and what the European Union can do to help resolve the migrant crisis.

Comment: Amid the austerity crisis and now the refugee crisis, the European Union has shown its true face as the European Nightmare. It is a corporation with no conscience and no wish to implement the laws it pretends to espouse - whether in regards to its citizens or the refugees it helped create in the first place.

Is that controversial?

The former Prime Minister of Australia (Tony Abbott) insisted on exactly that. Turn back the boats. It is strongly alleged that the Australian government has paid illegal migrant boat captains hard money to go back home. They won't admit it, claiming 'we don't discuss operational matters'.

The current Prime Minister of Australia (Malcolm Turnbull) has maintained that policy and attitude.

Really, if your government insists on keeping secret their expenditure of public monies, how can you judge them? So many public/private deals are 'commercial in confidence' nowadays.

So much for democracy.

Last night I watched the movie Children of Men, it's loosely based on the PD James novel of the same name. It's a dystopian movie and one could say it's almost be prophetic, that is if humanity continues on the path it's going at this time.

Here is a brief synopsis

Is this what we are all headed for? The film is set in 2027, when assorted natural disasters, wars and terrorist acts have rendered most of the world ungovernable, uninhabitable or anarchic. Britain stands as an island of relative order, held in line by a fearsome police state. It has been 18 years since Earth has seen the birth of a human child.

As the film opens, the TV news reports that the world's youngest person has been stabbed to death in Buenos Aires, because he declined to give an autograph. Theo Faron (Clive Owen), the film's hero, watches the news in a cafe and then leaves with his paper cup in his hand. Seconds later, a bomb destroys the cafe. This is essential: Faron is terrified. He crouches and fear freezes his face. This will not be like action pictures where the hero never seems to fear death.

Deja Vu anyone.

Guerrilla fighters occupy abandoned warehouses. The homeless live in hovels. Immigrants are rounded up and penned in cages. The utilities cannot be depended upon. There are, most disturbing of all, no children. Only dogs and cats remain to be cared for and cherished.

A case of art imitating life I would say. No it's not a movie spoiler, you have to watch the movie.
