Spanish SOTT editors (es.sott.net) recently spoke with renowned Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar, who explained that the Paris terror attacks were personal for him: they occurred in a part of the French capital he knows well.

Escobar writes a column for the Asia Times, and works as an analyst for RT and PressTV. He has spent many years tracking the movements of Islamic militant groups, particularly in central Asia. He coined the term 'pipelineistan' to describe the deadly resource wars occurring across the great landmass of Eurasia, and is one of the foremost experts on the geopolitics of 'the New Great Game'.

In this interview, Escobar discusses the epic intelligence failure surrounding the attacks in Paris, the two-way flow of jihadists from Europe to Syria, and the prospects for NATO-Russian cooperation in routing ISIS/Daesh from Syria and the Middle East.
