Roof's uncle told Reuters that he recognized his nephew from the surveillance photos released earlier today and that Roof received a new gun for his 21st birthday in April. Law enforcement agents are, according to the uncle, speaking with Roof's mother at her home. WLTX reports that authorities are searching for the suspect in Richland County.

Update: Charleston police have announced that Dylann Roof has been arrested in Shelby, NC during a traffic stop.
I know you guys in the states have your constitutional right to bear arms, but why do those arms need to be guns? Using a gun is for one thing alone, to kill, or to practice to kill. Threatening to use a gun, like the police do, is a terrifying experience, and like you recently reported, the police are all too eager to point guns in black kids' faces these days, even if they haven't done anything wrong. It really is time that you guys accept that having guns is leading to more murders, terrorist attacks - false flag or not, and simply fuels fear, crime and hate.
