A conservative Catholic Bishop in Nebraska has issued a warning to women claiming that they are sinning if they practice yoga, and says they should find a different way to exercise.
Retired Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of the Lincoln Diocese sent a letter to Women of Grace Ministry calling yoga a dangerous practice and "a pagan religion based on heathen beliefs and false doctrine of revelation involving such things as transmigration of souls, and so forth."
That's right. This Catholic Bishop thinks over 20 million Americans are living in sin because they are practicing yoga, which exercises the body and mind through controlled breathing, stretching and meditation.
But because yoga originates from India and is associated with Hinduism, conservative "Christians" around the country have targeted yoga in vicious attacks that include proposals to ban women from wearing yoga pants.
"Certainly, if one wants to engage in physical exercises to strengthen one's body, such a practice would be morally neutral, and would not, in itself, involve anything detrimental to our Catholic faith," Bruskewitz continued.
If conservative Catholics are really worried about succumbing to "pagan" religions just because they adopt a practice originating from another religion, perhaps they should also stop using Christmas trees, mistletoe, or celebrating Christmas on December 25th, which were all adopted from "pagan" religions. It's really the only way to not be a hypocrite."The practice of yoga...eventually morphs into an acceptance of points of view, and even doctrinal and moral matters that are distant from Catholic truth and from genuine and authentic Christian revelation.
In our time there are innumerable ways and methods by which appropriate and proper exercise of the human body can be undertaken that present no real danger to our faith or to our Catholic beliefs and commitments. It would be most desirable for persons who are Catholic to abstain from the practice of yoga and use other methods to exercise. We are never allowed to place our Catholic faith unnecessarily in any danger, and certainly the practice of yoga could be an occasion of serious sin."
And conservatives wonder why more Americans than ever before are refusing to identify as Christians. It's because of embarrassments like Bruskewitz and other Christian leaders.

Ask any 5 year old what is Christmas. The kid would tell you about Santa Claus and the gifts they expect for Christmas. They have forgotten about Easo who was born to bring about the Spiritual gifts to mankind in this world. Now the Devil has manifested in the form of Santa Claus showering material gifts to the children misleading them into a life of darkness, greed and sin.
If people would only study the origins of yoga, then maybe people would come to understand why this Bishop warns people of the practice of yoga. It has occult roots and before the "yoga pants ... OMG ... im going to post how good I look in these to twitter or instagram" attitude came to be, people actually practiced yoga as a means of prayer and worship, not because its "cool" and "hip".
You are "meditating" and "connecting" with the "universe" and all that hippy shit people like to believe in - you are indirectly worshiping the Earth, Gaia bullshit these heathens have proposed; its been around for a while, educate yourself. Of course, people are more likely to believe in unicorns and fairies before they establish a faith and trust in a one God.
People adapt to things that bring instant results because people tend to shy away from trials, tests and pain ... which is what you must endure to reach an everlasting life; faith express is what they expect, we ask and we receive instantly: the devil loves to take advantage of that shit. That is part of catechism. Don't be offended by this Bishops claims if you are not Catholic, why should you? He doesn't represent you, so go back to your atheist lives and mind your own business, but why criticize a religious official if you don't even belong to the faith?
For Catholics not up to par with what the Bishop is warning us about, you have no idea what you are doing and should re-examine your faith now because your faith is weak and vulnerable.

Take it down a notch. I don't think this god character really gives a shit if I do a little bit of stretching and breathing exercises. Now just relax, breathe in thru your nose.... And now exhale out of your mouth. That wasn't so bad now was it.
How DARE anyone "meditate" and "connect with the universe"! How utterly ungodly!
I will never understand such willful ignorance, but then some folks can't take a c**p without asking a bishop for permission.
