Severe thunderstorms are again flaring up across parts of the Midwest, Great Plains and South as a storm system plods eastward through the central and southern U.S., prompting the National Weather Service to issue numerous tornado warnings.

Notable information:

  • Reports of semi trailers blown over along I-44 near Afton, Oklahoma.
  • Strong winds damaged two farm houses and brought down power lines at Wallace, Kansas, according to the NWS.
  • Tornado sirens went off in Joplin, Missouri, but the cell passed without causing damage.
  • Emergency managers in Hallowell, Kansas, reported a tornado touched down. No reports of damage.
  • According to the National Weather Service, golfball sized hail fell near Louisville, Kentucky.
  • Law enforcement reported a tornado near Arapahoe, Colorado. No reports of significant damage.
