earthquakes 24 august
Past 36 hours of earthquakes (up to 700pm CDT Aug. 24, 2014) shows a series of large events in South and North America. California having its first “destructive” earthquake in 25 years near San Francisco, Peru having a 7.0M event, and Chile having a 6.4M event.

Another large earthquake has struck the Pacific ring of fire.

On top of today's 6.0M in Central California, on top of yesterdays 6.7M earthquake in Chile, now we see a 6.8 magnitude (upgraded to 7.0M) event in Peru.

Overall, we are seeing a major uptick in earthquake activity occur. On top of Icelands large volcanic eruption, I would say now is a good time to have a plan and be prepared.

I'd still be watching near Vancouver Island. Salton Sea should show something soon as well. Notice the earthquakes stopped in Oklahoma temporarily.. the pressure has been "transferred" temporarily...

But to where? Where has the pressure transferred? Since we first saw the 6.7M yesterday in Chile.. now the 6.0M in California.. this makes me think its a NW pressure transfer which is occurring like all those deep asthenosphere earthquakes which were happening at the 350mile deep range.

Over the past 72 hours we've seen multiple 3.0M and one 4.0M+ earthquake in Hawaii, as well as a series of upper 5.0M earthquakes across the pacific plate in Asia.

Not ruling out the multiple earthquakes happening in Iceland along the MidAtlantic Ridge.. the "pressure" now being placed on North America is coming from both sides. Movement coming from the Midatlantic, and from the Pacific.... both under serious stress (resulting in large earthquakes and volcanic eruptions).

Now that California popped slightly, I would expect movement to the NW of the California Epicenter (Vancouver) and I would also expect some kind of movement in the Middle to Eastern portion of the North American Craton.
craton

We need to watch this Craton edge! The states along the edge of the Craton are at extreme risk of earthquake activity now. Maybe not extremely large, but for sure some kind of noteworthy activity will be occurring along the edge.

States along the edge need to be aware of the increased threat. Its a huge area, but all should get some kind of activity in the next 4 days or so..

Starting in the Pacific Northwest, the aforementioned Cascades region near Vancouver BC, extending Southeast across Nevada to the earthquake swarm point (the dormant volcanic fissure at the Nevada / Oregon border).

Next, watch the direct craton edge. Very large area, all should be displaced somewhat following this movement in California and Iceland.

States along the edge of the craton: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virgina, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Vermont, New Hampshire, Quebec Canada, New Brunswick Canada.

Idaho / Montana / Wyoming - Yellowstone .. watch for moderate swarm activity, largest of which could reach up to the mid 4.0M - low 5.0M range.

Colorado / New Mexico / Texas / Oklahoma / Kansas / Arkansas / Illinois / Virginia / New York / Pennsylvania / W. Virginia / Ohio - watch for moderate earthquakes 3.0M to mid 4.0M at the fracking / drilling / and mining operations.

Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee - watch the New Madrid for possible movement. Pressure now coming from both directions onto New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ). Normally we don't see much activity on this region, however with pressure showing on both sides of the unsubducted plate (the craton), we're on the edge of a possible larger event here in the Midwestern United States.

Luckily (not a good kind of lucky though) there are now weak points which have been placed on both sides of the NMSZ .. the fracking operations are what I'm taking about.

As in 2011, when we saw activity on the West Coast, it was followed by larger earthquakes at the fracking operations, and finally culminated in a borderline 6.0M earthquake in Virginia , which caused damage on the East Coast (that occurred at a fracking operation by the way).

As for Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada..... keep watch on the dormant volcanoes and mines!!!!!! Always follow up movement at these spots after big movement in the Midwest or West Coast.

Be on watch, this California movement , and Iceland eruption let you know things are really active right now.
