United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Valerie Amos, is expected to visit Ukraine later this week, planning also to make a stop in the country's eastern regions to evaluate the humanitarian situation, a UN representative said Thursday.

Ms. Amos is also expected to visit eastern Ukraine to see firsthand the humanitarian situation for people in the areas affected by fighting," Amanda Pitt, a spokeswoman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.
