A dual bi-directional key verification added to the wifi standard would curb this easily.
Much like your computer has to send a key to the router to connect, just add it on the reverse as well.
Basically the computer "yells" for it's networks.
Router asks for verification, (wifi key).
Router verifies the key sent and sends a key back to the computer.
Computer verifies the network and key received.
Bam there ya go. Was that so hard?
Oh wait, it costs too much to add common sense and real security measures.
Sure it would nullify current setups. But so did the CD rom to the floppy....
