German groom drives off, leaving new bride at gas station

A newlywed German man had some explaining to do after he left his bride behind at a highway gas station as the two returned home to Berlin after honeymooning in France.

The woman was sleeping in the back of the couple's van when her husband pulled into the gas station late Thursday in the town of Bad Hersfield.

Her husband didn't realize that she had gotten up to use a restroom and he drove off before she returned, assuming she was still sleeping.

He didn't realize she wasn't in the van until he was about 2½ hours down the road.

He called police, who assured him she was patiently waiting.

It is the light section. However, small jokes like that are a seed for a bigger problem on the whole.

I have the urge to say sorry but I will not. Those jokes are not funny and really do highlight a much larger problem in our society. Even in a lighten up section bad behavior should not be laughed at or taken lightly.

A lot of jokes are actually cloaking a very ugly fact. Nothing to make light of. No disrespect Jean, but I see this as a problem. If I always went along to get along I would start telling blonde or fat people jokes now.

Perhaps the ultimate blonde joke

A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer, also a blonde.

The blonde cop asked to see the blonde's drivers license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated.

“What does it look like?” she finally asked.

The policewoman replied, “It's square, and it has your picture on it.”

The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it and handed it to the policewoman. “Here it is,” she said.

The blonde officer looked at the mirror and handed it back, saying, “OK -– you can go. I didn't realize that you were a cop.”

Blonde jokes are silly. They are absurd. They are not mean-spirited. No one takes them seriously.

The same goes for Polish jokes. This is my favorite:

Did you hear about the Polish surgeon who achieved international acclaim for performing the world's first successful appendix transplant?

In this case, the joke is on the listener, because most people don't get it immediately. You can almost see the light bulb light up over their heads, when, after a couple of seconds, they finally do get it.

In short, I've had it up to here with PC!
