The astronomer in the article does a good job of telling people to go back to sleep, by talking about how meteors are formed by dust, then that it is part of meteor showers and lastly to reinsure people that these are "common and predictable" and no cause for alarm... zzzzzzzzzz
The description from the eyewitness is far from reassuring. As far as meteor showers go, then if one looks at wikipidia ( [Link]), then one can see that there are meteor showers that covers every single day of the year. Yes, EVERY single day of the year so to say that some meteor is part of a meteor shower is meaningless and NOT reassuring at all.
