Audio: Homophobic "Man of God" Okays Violence Against Children

On Sunday, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Pastor Sean Harris, of the Berean Baptist Church, slammed parents who allow their boys to act effeminate (audio below). He preached that parents should "man up" and punch small children who have "limp wrists."

Harris said that if girls want to play sports, they should be allowed to as long as they "dress themselves up" and try to look attractive.

While there is laughter from the audience, it is hard to tell if Harris is joking or not.

Harris supports North Carolina's proposed anti-gay Amendment One.

Yep

Having a personal experience with fundamentalist religions, I would have to conclude this guy is dead serious.
The congregation is probably laughing out of nervousness or fear or incredulity that any adult in a position of authority would say such a shocking thing. Punching a four year-old because of some perceived feminine behavior is, to any normal human being, particularly a parent, is, to say the least, shocking.

Gospel of Hate...

Apparently Pastor Harris missed the class on the Christian concept of agape (the Love of Jesus; seen as spiritual, selfless, and a model for humanity) and also the class on the principles of compassion and understanding And what does he have to say in his own defense today, “…what I do stand by is that the word of God makes it clear that effeminate behavior is ungodly. I’m not going to compromise on that.” With this statement, Pastor Harris sets himself up as an authority on “the word of God” thereby relieving himself of any responsibility for his irresponsibility. What kind of god would give Pastor Harris this kind of authority? Oh yeah, the god that is above, beyond, outside, and hidden from all but those who understand and (ab)-use “the word” in service to self, for the disempowerment of humanity, and to feed their god of entropy.

Leaders like Pastor Harris are legion, and they serve their entropic god by preaching and teaching hate, and perpetuating misery and suffering…and these preachers and teaches of entropy are extraordinarily effective, because not one person in attendance on Sunday stood up for the principles of agape, compassion, understanding, or Truth…NOT ONE.

diagnosed condition."

"These medical procedures and treatment protocols are not experimental: decades of both
clinical experience and medical research show they are essential to achieving well-being for
the transsexual patient."

"Available routinely in the United States and in many other countries, these treatments are cost
effective rather than cost prohibitive."

“Professionals who provide services to patients with gender conditions understand the
necessity of SRS, and concur that it is reconstructive, and as such should be
reimbursed, as would any other medically necessary treatment.”

"The WPATH Board of Directors urges health insurance carriers and healthcare providers in
the United States to eliminate transgender or trans-sex exclusions and to provide coverage for
transgender patients and the medically prescribed sex reassignment services necessary for
their treatment and well-being, and to ensure that their ongoing healthcare (both routine and
specialized) is readily accessible."

At this [Link] we can read the following. Note the last sentence

"Local pastor, Sean Harris of Berean Baptist Church spoke from the pulpit this past Sunday on the North Carolina's proposed Amendment 1 from the support angle, which is not a surprise.

The surprise came when he commented to the congregation that if their child exhibits gay behaviors that as a parent they should "punch boys with limp wrists".

The vote on proposed Amendment 1 is less than one week away to determine if the state will make marriage between a man and a woman the only legally recognized domestic union in the state.

Wednesday Harris retracted his remarks and apologized on the church's website, but it is still the talk of the town."
