LAURA KNIGHT-JADCZYK AND JOE QUINN
Since the 9/11 attacks, no book has provided a satisfactory answer as to WHY the attacks occurred and who was ultimately responsible for carrying them out - until now.
That's what i thought too.
then add in some pharma and
look out!
Consumerism has all but the poorest in its grasp.
I don't eat much processed food or sugar, but more dairy than I'd like because it is more convenient to prepare than meat.
I am not particularly interested in a long life, but when the Thought Police come knocking at my door, I hope to be able to put up a good fight!
that picture of the family in chad compared to the others, is striking. no fresh produce visible, and so little, is just wrong. Why aren't they farming? I cant help but think 'developing' means 'we screwed them and this is the result' That region has been occupied for aeons: obviously, it hasnt always been like this, or why would there be people there at all? This world, our world of human, is truely screwed up, and has to either embrace whole-scale change, or consume itself in hate and fear and gluttony. I, for one, don't want to go out like this.
They aren't farming because they live in a desert. The question is why aren't they moving?
If you researched the area you would see what type of climate they have and understand why they don't farm as much as we do. in North America. and to marcs comment.. the question isn't why aren't they moving. Because again with proper research you would see plenty of reasons to why they don't leave. Some answers are even obvious. The real question should be, what can you do to help?
Whatever the climate is food obviously doesn't grow there. All I needed to see was the background in the picture in question to have a fairly firm grasp on the local conditions.
All I'm saying is that you would think that at SOME point in the last 200 years or so somebody would have said "Hey! let's pack up our stuff and move where some food will grow!"
That being said, I agree with you about helping. It just seems to me that if you want to help the best thing that could be done is to quit sending them bags of rice and start sending them buses to take them someplace where they can survive.
Personally I try to do my helping in my community. Plenty of people we can help that we walk by every day. Maybe it's time to start worrying about them,
are dropping like flies - the 'balanced diet' killed them.
