FBI Latest Government Agency to Target Social Media

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation posted a Request for Information last month calling on IT companies to demonstrate their ability to design software for monitoring, mapping and analyzing social media.

Comment: They've been doing this sort of thing for years as COINTELPRO, only now they are going high-tech.

Oh, c'mon now...

The NSA, in particular, has long had the capability to track ALL electronic communications in order to create and maintain HUGE databases that identify and profile ALL internet/cell-phone/voice users. So this story is either the right hand not knowing what the left is doing, or just the usual mis/disinformation. For example, research the IMMENSE data center being built in the west (Utah?). As a database expert, I can easily estimate what the NSA is doing with all that horsepower. One thing is for sure -- anyone who the PTB identify as a threat to the status quo has been identified long ago, and are being passively monitored using these brute force 3rd density techniques. One can only imagine what the 4th density monitoring mechanisms are like.

So basically ...

a concerted effort to do away with our freedom of assembly. Because basically this is concern about people getting together to talk, and what they talk about - it's okay if a few people get together for dinner, but not okay if the discussion involves too many people. As a side note, anyone who accepts fb friends that they don't know in real life is stupid (sorry) - but seriously, so many people (from government, potential home invasion crews, to bill collectors) are creating these pseudo personas that it is too risky. If you wouldn't tell a stranger your business in real life, why allow people you don't know to access your online information? Similarly, keep your stuff on fb private, or to known friends only - obviously certain agencies can still gain access to information you mark as private, but at least make them work a little for it!

And ...

as a footnote, they are already doing SERIOUS predictive data-mining .... ironically, I have less of a concern about that, because the data is pulled to track trends, but is at least anonymous. However, it also helps those with the intent to deploy disinformation campaigns the information they need on what subjects to target ... but so long as you have online sources that vet their information, not a huge threat (they can disinformation all they want to on MSM networks, etc., and I'd never even notice!).

Sure, it is all for Israel........
