Location of Sighting: Knaphill, Woking, Surrey
Date of Sighting: 26th December
Time: 17.00

Witness Statement: My wife and two of our three grown-up children were arriving home after an afternoon at Kempton Park races. As we turned onto our estate where we live, we saw a bright orange orb in the sky at around 1000 feet altitude in a due easterly direction over Horsell village around a mile away. At that distance and elevation I estimate the orb would have been between 100 and 200 feet diameter. We pulled up outside our house and the four of us witnessed this strange apparition in the sky. The orange outer surface formed a corona like effect. There were flames coming from the left hand side. It was perfectly stationary.

I tried to photograph the image but my camera did not work. We watched it for about a minute before it suddenly disappeared. Weather was cold but clear with a wind of approx 5 miles per hour.
