Heavy rains in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have left a three-year-old girl dead and affected 364,700 people in southern China, the Xinhua news agency said on Monday.

The rains caused flash floods that leveled 500 dwellings and destroyed 58 km (36 miles) of road surface on three highways.

Floods have also destroyed 14,000 tons of grain over an area of 19 hectares of land, causing economic losses of almost 86 million yuan ($12.3 million).

Meteorologists say the rain is set to continue for at least two more days.
