NASA is concerned by the two consecutive ballistic descents of the Russian manned Soyuz spacecraft, but is certain that Russia will identify and remove their causes, Deputy Director of the Human Space Flight Program-Russia Mark Bowman told journalists on Monday.

Certainly, there are reasons to be worried, but I am sure that the commission will identify the causes of this situation, he said.

NASA representatives were allowed to attend one of the sessions of the Russian governmental commission, which looked at what might have caused the ballistic descent of the Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft from the orbit.

The Russian commission will identify and remove the causes, which led to the nominal but ballistic descent of the spacecraft, the NASA official said.
